I don't know too much about them. But at the convention in Cherry Hill NJ. Mind bogling beautiful. That was soooo huuuge. Thousand and thousand of stuff. Took a camera with me for the trip to NJ. Forgot it to take to convention and forgot it again at the 50th BD party we had for DD. Had charger for battery and all, never used the camera. Had a lot of back pain, part of my conventional every day get up so I wasn't myself.....
June pictures and chit chat

I'm so glad you got to go. I can't wait to see a convention.
This is so pretty, Jamie!

It was befuddeling - so I don't mind not having pictures. My kids who came along took pics with their i-phones. but at the end, it was all so beautiful but rushed, we said very befuddeling. I can't explain.....
What is the name of the episcia with the pink flowers? Beautiful and the Clivias are stunning.
Helene: This is OFF THE CHAIN in so many ways, you can't even imagine! Wow! The Clivia is making such a bold statement there. It's one of my all time favorite plants. When I was a child, we had a huge, antique pewter tub filled with an ages old clump of Clivia. It took three people to hoist it from its Winter to its Summer location. Memories...
Jamie: As for the hot pink Episcia: I would put my bet on Episcia 'Pink Panther'.
Helene: The sheer abundance of flowers on your Episcias is just STUNNING! WOW! Congratulations!
Beautiful pics, everyone!!
Connie

Olaf, one of Thad's very pretty ones.I would love to see more of the foliage.

God means well with me, sometimes. That is the view from DR table. glass all around.
Epys do well because of Fl heat and humidity and then I took advice given here and keep refreshing with new plants. Since I don't show I put in many stolons into one hanging basket pot as I can.
Pink blooming is geourges. dk leaves and lg pink flowers "silver pink"
leaves should be light silver, however they are not. Bougt it from Glass House Works In Ohio. Whatever I love it.
I probagate my clivias.Had as many as 20 at one time. Have one yellow in seed right now. Here in FL I have to bring them indoors in July, Aug and Sept. sometime in Jan..You see I Have to schlepp them around too.
From upper left: Petrocosmea 'Fluffer Nutter', rosettifolia, JR 2008-1, 'Keystone's Little Rascal'. I decided to get some company for my lonely looking Petrocosmea 'Fluffer Nutter'. I got the plants from Cedar Creek Violets via eBay and payed less than $25 for three Pets and one Chirita. This includes shipping. For some reason, nobody was bidding on the Pets although the plants they showed in the listing were the actual plants up for auction. I bought five excellent Chirita leaves from CCV about two months ago and just potted up the first plantlets. They have good quality plants/leaves for a very fair price.
Very nice.I am not very good at Petros.
Lynn
I don't know yet if I'm any good with Pets. Well, I'll soon find out. The 'Fluffer Nutter' plantlet has survived over two months im my care now and has tripled in size. Maybe that's a good sign...
I'm also surprised about my ability to keep Streps alive (so far) and also named varieties of Violets. I even have two plantlets coming up on leaves of named Violets. That's a total first for me. LOL
Well, speaking of plants, we seem to be unable to keep alive: Here's an update on my Chrysothemis friedrichsthaliana which is doing great in a bright, heavily obstructed South window which gets a tiny amount of sun every day. It's having its first buds of the season. Maybe this year, I'll manage not to blast them...
Beautuful!
Thanks Lynn!
Lucky you on those pets. I always hear that people get great bargains on eBay but that has never been the case with me. I seem to get outbid the last minute on everything! I notice eBay buyers paying more for some plants that can be had for less through a normal supplier like Violet Barn, etc...
Absolutely. You have to know the regular prices for the plants and don't raise your bids past that. I paid $4.95 for each pet. I could, of course, have gotten them for almost the same price elsewhere but I like the quality of plants/leaves from Cedar Creek Violets and that's why I gave them a chance again. Add to that a slightly overpriced Chirita which I wanted bad. and a great shipping rate for all four plants. Their packaging is also very good and they ship FAST. Altogether I paid a bit over $23 for four nice size plants (The Pets are definitely no starters and neither is the Chirita) including shipping. That's a pretty good deal.
I have to admit that I have bought an overpriced mini Sinningia tuber on ebay. Or that's what I thought. As a matter of fact, the tuber that I got was over two inches in diameter and in beautiful condition. So it turned out to be worth its money after all. Well, that tuber was 'Ozark Red Lightning' and has started to sprout beautifully.
Like I said "Selby Gardens" In Chicago
On a little, enclosed back porch on the third floor... LOL
Thanks Helene!
WOW - lots of work.
I teeter between wanting all my AVs and the work.....
