Roses, clematis and many vegetables love it.

People who judge don't matter and people who matter don't judge. Disregard them.

Dayton, OH

I remember when my poor feet loved it.
Hasn't anyone ever soaked their feet in Epsom Salts?

Does it work just as well to just sprinkle it around the plants. I wanted to put some all through my beds to see if it would help.

Yes. That's the way I've often done it and so has Jeanne.

ok thanks.

Just a handful for each plant is sufficient since, when you go to grab a handful, half of it slips through your fingers. It will not hurt any other plant so have no fears. Just rinse any excess off plant leaves and water the ES in well - warm water preferred but when you're doing a lot of plants it's just not possible.

I talked to someone a couple of years ago that swears by ES for getting better color out of annuals, such as petunias. He said he put a tablespoon in each hole when planting, and it made a huge difference. I've never tried it on anything but the clematis, and I just did that for the first time recently, thanks to the suggestions here. I just planted some petunias and didn't even think to give it a try! Probably because I was so exhausted from digging up more lawn to make a new flower bed!

Sure! Now you tell me after I just planted petunias within the last hour!

I'll go back and add some ES. Maybe I should do it for two of the three and see how they compare in another month.

Thanks, Natalie.

Sorry pirl! I just remembered it or I would have mentioned it earlier, and would have used it myself when I planted my petunias! I love your idea of trying it on part of them to see if there really is a difference! Please let me know the results! I honestly can't imagine petunias with better color than they are all on their own, and thought it would be hard to tell the difference if you did it on all of them. I really looking forward to hearing whether or not it really helps!

I really was just teasing, Natalie, but I also did just plant petunias and Supertunias.

I'll try to remember to report on the test but feel free to remind me in a month.

I knew you were kidding! Remind me to remind you in a month, if we both forget!

I really did do it late yesterday and then watered in the ES. Now to add a note to my eternal "to-do" list so I'll remember to check for results, take photos and post them.
