This pair of Tree Swallows just have had a hard time with the House Sparrows. They've picked another house, but a sparrow still is trying to chase them off.

Been a mixture of good and bad here. First our first house of 4 Tree Swallows fledged yesterday, but we worried about them all night. They first spent almost 2 hours out on the deck trying to clean and dry themselves. Here's the first one to leap.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Guess I could have added a photo-sorry.

Another one. We think the smallest one is the only one that ended up standing all night in our neighbor's yard. We found it in the exact spot this morning at 5:30 and you wouldn't believe how relieved we were when mom and dad came to feed it and finally get it to fly off. We missed that part, but we were certain it wasn't in the garden later on.
