Pink Speckled vine #2
Morning Glories 2011 #04
I'm enjoying your blooms very much Helena. My no Haru will open soon,
color showing already.
Helena, Those are the most beautiful blooms on the Diluted, I still call it the
mutant. Love all the rest of your blooms too.
I've taken my first pic with my new camera. I went to Target to get a little Kodak c195 and found the Sony cybershot there that I had wanted from the get-go. Don't have a clue yet how to use it, well just vaguely. Will send a pic later of my first bloom to open, by the time I figured out a few things on the new camera, the bloom wss half closed,
:-(
Thanks Jackie. You are so nice. I'm glad you got a new camera, be waiting to see your pictures.
I've been taking pictures with my old camera, it was giving me so much problems with the batteries last year that I got my DH to buy me a new one that for the time being is just sitting waiting till I need it again.

Beautiful soft color on that bloom Helena.
Helena - What is the cultivar on this one? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=8610914 Really pretty bloom!!! Your Pandy blooms are outstanding!
My Pandy is growing underlights still. I guess I need to start a seed or two outside. I hate to move my indoor vines outside because the bugs are really bad right now and are chewing up the leaves on the ones I have growing in sunshine. :-(
Jackie - Nice sharp photos with that new camera! I would love to see some close-up bloom pictures using that camera. Looks like a really nice camera! Congrats on your new toy! :-)
Thanks Jackie and Becky.
Becky I'm not positive on the name, it could be one from the Japanese seller that's called "Blue Pearl". A lot of the ones from the Japanese sellers that I bought are just called Asagao and not given a specific name. I have to write down the discription on the back of the label to know which one they are which I haven't done on some yet. (edit) Or it could be Hama Fubuki since the blooms change from day to day but I'll keep an close eye on those to make sure!
Becky's DFNM bloom!

Gorgeous blooms Helena. So eager for another one of mine to open. Will be
my pandy for sure but I love it so thats ok.
Thanks Becky, Takes me a while to learn since I have so little time to mess with it.
Heres my Begonia Down Home rooting in a cup of water on the bar. Fairly good up close pic for me. This is the Sony Cybershot 530 that had the great reviews. $119.00 which included a 50.00 Sony battery., great buy

Nice, sharp close-up, Jackie! Looks like an excellent inexpensive camera! You did your research and it paid off! Enjoy it! We will enjoy the photos you take with it! :-)
I read that it has a smile detector feature that really works as well, the camera takes a picure once everybody smiles. That's pretty neat! Didn't know they made something like that! LOL!
Believe me ... your photos will be sharper than mine because you have a higher mega-pixel lens than mine. I look forward to seeing all the great bloom photos you'll be taking this year! :-)

Helena - Most lovely all of them! Eenie, meanie, mynie, moe ... hard to pick which one I like the best! They are all such attractive blooms!
Becky, thanks. haven't had time to check out the smile feature yet.
The camera is so tiny, it's very hard to hold it steady to snap the pic. So far,all I've done is point and shoot. :-) I won't ever be good with a camera but this
camera will make it look like I know what I'm doing on occasion, lol
Jackie - Did you get a photo editor program with your new camera. What I do is also point and shoot. When I check the photos after I download them, I usually crop the photos to remove all the background stuff so that the focus is on the bloom or plant. I do take a lot of close-ups of blooms, but the editor helps remove distracting junk in the photos.
Becky, I don't see anything that says photo editor. I know though that I can crop, reduce red eye, rotate the pic etc. All the usual I guess.
Jackie - Is the cropping done on your computer or on the camera? I prefer the computer photo cropping, rotate photos, etc. (editor) because I can see the photos much better than I can using the camera editor. Old age, I guess. Harder to see small details on small screens. :-D
Becky, yes I can do all that on the computer. Would hate to have to do it on the camera ,it sure is tiny.
I crop a lot of my photos so that it shows mainly the blooms and not distracting, irrelevant background. Believe me I don't take great photos, but I make my photos look good by cropping! I love digital pictures! I spent a small fortune since I was about 10 years old on film and film processing constantly. I was always taking photos of my friends and of whatever struck my fancy! I spent my entire allowance on photos almost weekly. Well, not quite... I spent the rest on 45 records, too! I remember getting a new record every other week. But the film developing always came first! :-) :-) :-)
Becky you take some great pics. I won;t ever be that good so I'll just be
happy when I luck out and get a good shot. :-) I tried cropping last yr on my old camera
but it made the resulting pic larger than life,.I was so embarrased when I sent it in :-(
Jackie - You will take some amazing shots this year! I just know it! :-)
