Really looking beautiful Karen! My cristata didn't bloom much this year. I think it needs division.

Resin stone face with mini hosta (I think this one is 'Saishu Jima', or something like that) and dwarf SS.

the hedgehog is cute

Thanks, Weeze. I have the 'Tennessee White' version of the IC, but it's so very, very small. I've had it a couple years now. Might move it this year and see if it likes a different spot better.

I was right on the name of that mini hosta. The tag is right there in the pic! Duh!

Spanish bluebells with hosta 'Dancing In The Rain' (lower left corner), H. 'Emerald Tiara' (far right), H. 'Dark Star' (right behind the bluebells), and H. 'Lemon Meringue' (behind watering can).

They all look happy including the face :)

That's what I have Karen. Mine is not tall, but has gotten very wide, I'd guess more than a foot and 1/2, hence my thoughts to divide. Love the shot with the watering can!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Allison. He's one of my favorite garden ornaments.

Another look at a lot of those plants. That bright green hosta in the back is 'Chinese Sunrise'. I was told it was an older variety and a sport of 'Lancifolia'.

Weeze, I don't know when crested iris should be divided. I mean how big they should be before dividing. I'm often taking off pieces of my clump to either sell or give away. I actually have several clumps, the one in that picture and about 4 around my pond.

Japanese Painted Fern and NOID tiarella.

That's a lovely shot, Karen.....I need to put in a shade garden where I have nasty weeds growing, but when I spoke to my son last night, he doesn't think the area can be rototilled because of the roots from a spruce tree....the area needs some sort of intervention badly!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Lasagna the area. I have been able to make a garden by layering newspaper and mulch the fall before I planted. I wouls thing hostas and heucheras could be fit between roots.
I just put plants in and let the roots duke it out for themselves.

Thomaston, CT

No time....the plants are in a box now......I thought I would have the garden ready.....stupid me!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Marilyn.

More pics from yesterday.

That previous pic is Thalictrum rochebrunianum “Lavender Mist Meadow Rue” that I got from Annie's last year. http://anniesannuals.com/plt_lst/lists/general/lst.gen.asp?prodid=1057&prp_let=T

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

very nice joanne - i have sambor here - at least i think i do, not sure if it is one that made it or not

i had a nice surprise yesterday noticed one ger. yesterday that has 7 or 8 good sized babies sprotting up around it - was pretty happy to see that as it is one that does not cover and entire bed - good fro filling a hole in the front of a bed.

Thomaston, CT

Karen, I have no idea what that plant is...it does look tropical. I bought meadow rue this year....Thundercloud....don't know if it will bloom. Really like the Samobor......Pirl's photo is lovely...what a gorgeous color!
