Planning menu for community time after church on Saturday, I was thinking a Mother's Day tea...but I never know how many people will be in church so it's tough...of course, don't know how the men would like that.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Wow! Looks good! Bet it tastes better! lol!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Love to say I made it, but no. Not ladyfingers, it had a hard crunchy shell with custard and fruit. Yummy, by Shop Rite

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

years ago when my mom & I went to AC... we used to pick up a custard fruit pie like that at trop... just out of this world

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Grilled chicken salad with pecans and grapes. I had a volunteer red leaf lettuce come up in the garden. I have no idea from where it ccame, but I'm not complaining.

Spent all day cooking for community time after church everything came out wonderful!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I have been buying plain oatmeal and just adding honey or some jam to flavor it... I kept seeing on food network .. agave nectar being used.. saw it in the food store.. picked it up.. I have to say.. WOW is it good... very pleasant sweetness.. wonder if you can bake with it.. and you know I am going to look it up

Neat!

I use agave once in awhile for my Mom, because it doesn't spike blood sugar. Today I made both a pork roast & a fresh brisket, scalloped potatoes, carrots, & asparagus...sis brought a salad, & a friend brought a lemon sponge pie....there were 9 of us, & what we didn't eat, I sent home with everyone, except for tomorrow night's meal for me!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I am not a real big drinker... but I picked up some of the tgi fridays mixer buckets from the christmas tree shop.. it has powdered drink mix in the bucket.. you add water & rum (used Malibu) stick the bucket in the freezer ... and use an ice cream scoop to serve.. can't get any better than a strawberry daiquiri slushy

:)

love that I don't have to mix it glass by glass for a party as well

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

2-2 liter bottles of 7-up
6 oz can frozen lemon aid
6oz. can of frozen orange juice
6 cups of water
1 cup of sugar
5th of 80 - 100 proof vodka
Mix all together except 7-up in a large punch bowl and put in freezer for 24 hours. Everything but the alcohol will freeze and make it a slush. When ready to serve add fresh fruit such as strawberries, orange slices, and cherries. To serve scoop into your glass until 3/4 full, top with 7-up and fresh fruit if desired. Enjoy!!!
Best summer drink i've ever had but very dangerous. Way to refreshing and smooth!!
By the time your on drink 2 or 3.....number one is just starting to hit you.

frozen OJ?

does sound yummy!!!... my one friend used to take a gallon of citrus rita's ice... put it in a cooler.. dump a bottle of southern comfort in it... and I don't like southern comfort... after 1/2 the glass I just handed Randy the keys... and told him he was in charge.. LOL

they always kept a ladle there so you can pop off some ice along with the liquid.. good stuff

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yes, frozen concentrated OJ and Lemon aid

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Amazing that I haven't drank in almost 20 years and i can still rattle of that recipe like I made it yesterday!! That ought to tell ya how good it is. LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I read Randy your recipe ... his words "oh yeah.. that would be just what you need"... LOL

sad part is if I drank 2 or 3.. I would be done for the night.. cheap date

:)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I learned fast not to gulp them... I was in bad shape the first time. We were outside in the hot sun playing volleyball and batmitten and I was slurping them up like kids with slush-puppies!!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I can get like that with those tiny bottles of mudslides from Kahlúa... like drinking chocolate milk.. very dangerous!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

tootsierolls....yum!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I'd watch that Agave if I were you...

Went to our neighbors' house they had their grandson's baptism party, we went over later to give them time with the extended family, they had sooooo much food leftover.
Chicken marsala, shrimp salad, chicken salad, all kinds of brunch foods(bacon, eggs, french toast, home fries),
a ton of different desserts
I'm still stuffed!

Thomaston, CT

Thanks for the info on the agave.....I've never given my Mom more than a tsp.......however, I wouldn't give her HFCS in it's place, either. I am allergic to corn syrup, read labels to check that I am not bringing it into the house......

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

wow CS is in so many things.. you go nuts like I do with yeast.. both are in everything
