The gloxinia is beautiful
May pictures and chit chat
I have a nice picture of a newly opened blossom of Rob's Fe Fi that I took yesterday. Now, if I can only find my camera . . . ^_^
Olaf, if you ever have seeds from 'Red Satin', I would love to have them . It is stunning. Lou
If not seeds, there will be rhizomes... :)
Gloxinia erinoides 'Red Satin'
This is adorable!
Sorry about the bits if insulation that are still on the leaves . . . I basically just took it out of it's box, gave it a squirt of water, and put it in a tiny dome. Sometime this week I will get it all cleaned up . . . 'cause there's more buds in there (you can see them tucked in there), and I want it all cleaned up for the next pic.
Very nice Olaf and Nichole!
Ok, so I've been looking at my Episcia 'My Black Beauty' for the past few days . . . I've got to say it was looking kinda sorry . . . I even put it into an 8" container to water it from the bottom on - that was a few days ago. I was just in there looking at what I need to work on next, and the poor thing looks even worse! There was still water at the bottom of the larger container . . . then I see it . . . it's still double potted . . . and for those of you who show plants, you know what I did . . . I forgot to take the press'n'seal from the bottom of the pot, so it couldn't absorb any water!
I won't take a pic of its sorry self right now, but here's a pic from the show 2 weeks ago . . . it's the one in the lower left . . .
Sorry to hear that. I think I would just start fresh from tips and stolons. Fortunately you won't have to wait long for it to look its best again. :)
Very pretty!
Oh no,Nichole. At least it won't take too long to bring the poor thing back.
Lynn
So cute and tiny!
Yes they are! And the picture doesn't do them justice at all.
Here is a bloom from HCY's Blue Dolphin . . . you guys remember I posted a pic back in December or January of the two tiny leaves that finally popped out of the soil? It's now a decent size in a 3 oz solo cup. The leaves are pale/bronze-ish . . . but I think that's from being too close to the lights. I moved it to a shelf where it will be further from the lights . . .
Very pretty!
Jan
Great pictures Nichole!
Hi Sis,how are things going?
Lynn
Beautiful!!!! It's a winner whether it gets a ribbon or not. Lou
It's a winner!
Very nice, Nichole
Thanks, all!
I'll just need to remember to adjust this one for an extra 2 weeks on the showing calendar . . . .

Wow! Very nice Lynn and Nichole!
I just planted small tubers of Sinn. 'HCY's Taurus', 'HCY's Bold Print', 'Ozark Scentimental Journey', 'Lisa' and a large tuber of 'Ozark Red Lightning'.
Sinn. 'Seminole', cardinalis, eumorpha 'Saltao', 'Country Tiger' x self, 'Country Crocus' and some NOID Sinn. seedlings are getting ready.
Sinn. muscicola has about a half dozen buds and one tiny Sinn. pusilla seedling has one.
Now if the weather around here would play along...
That's a beauty Nichole!
Blooms are so evenly distributed. A winner NOW
Nicole -- gorgeous -- makes you understand why Saintpaulia species came to the attention of botanists in the first place!
