I will be there & I am dragging Ralph with me!! hahaha... however, my friend may not be joining us as she has been ill lately so if she is up to it we will bring her. I don't know if the others that asked me will show up.
I did get a question as to whether this event was open to the public or not..& I don't know how to answer that really..as we do want new people. hmmmm. I've not answered this person as of yet! lol

I'm not nearly so sweet that I'll melt. Now all I have to do is figure out how to pack all these plants into the cab of my pickup! See you soon.

The darkness has faded and looks to be clearing ...nothing past Stevenville, so we are definately still on. Be careful on the roads everyone.
Don't look now guys, but the sun is out in SW Fort Worth!!! Woohoo!!!
Clearing up here too Sheila! This will be more like a fall Round-up, lol.
The worst is over I think.
Ok Im off the monitor now, shutting down.... Packing up and getting dressed.

Thanks for all the plants and I found my missing zexmenia's here at home. I will make it up to people at the fall roundup.

Thank you to every one!!! Y'all are the kindest most generous people I know. I am blessed to know each of you. Thanks again for everything.
I wholeheartedly agree Catz! I always have a great time, regardless of the weather. And a special thanks to you for taking all those tomatoes off my hands!
I had a great time (even without my coat). And it didn't rain on us! Now it's just wait until the rain stops and find a place to put everything. I really didn't expect to come home with as many plants as I took!
Good to meet everyone and I'm already planning on what I'll be bringing to the Fall Roundup.

Great day to be inside but when friends and plants are in the mix, I am glad we braved the wind and cold to have the RU today. We didn't have rain until we were loading up, but it was definately windy and cold. I think it was a good day for the plants though, nothing seemed stressed. Those of you who came from far and wide deserve a special whoo-rah!!
The food was great as usual, and Catz the recipe idea is definately a good one. It was suggested you start a RU recipe thread then put them together on a pdf file.
My guest Marilyn met many of you and really enjoyed her day; thanks for sharing your plants with her. I thought I didn't trade for much but had so many plants we almost didn't get mine and hers tucked in the car!
I love you guys!!
Glad you joined us too Dale, your plants I got will be cherished!

We also had a great time although it was cold but all the running back and forth with plants really helped.
Sheila did a great job organizing everything as usual, and it was good to see long time friends and meet new ones.
I hope Steadycam and her friend got home safely they drove a long way.
I will post pictures later, with the help of Sheila's track keeping.
Josephine.
Thanks Jo, but only possible with you Frank, and those others like Stephanie, Mark, Linda Alyce, Sybil and Art's help. And to all those generous gardeners that are willing to pass on the blessings that have been given to them from others.
It was wonderful!! Even though the weather was cool and windy, we had a great time! Wonderful people, great food, and fun times talking plants!! We'll have to do this again in the fall! ;)
Dennis I think that is White Mistflower, Ageratina herbacea.

Hmmm...Dennis, did you get 2 E TX Mistflowers from me? It might be that.
I don't think it is a rock rose, did I not end up with one?

At least they wont be too dry...

Cheryl that is the Downy Skullcap, Scutellaria incana from me, I am sorry I didn't label my plants, I was out of tags and time too.
Thank you for all the nice plants you gave me also, the Fielder garden is going to love it.
Josephine.
Thanks to everyone for a great RU. Sorry we had to leave before all was finished but just could not take the cold any longer. My rain jacket was definitely not a cold weather jacket. I will be better prepared in the future. Was halfway home before I remembered we hadn't done the door prize thing yet.
I'm sure I'll have many questions about the multitude of plants I received when I can get them out of the garage. Still pouring down rain here. But the great thing is our drainage swale/dry creek bed that I have been designing and installing for the past year is working like a charm. No water pooling next to the foundation. Whoopee!! Can't wait to get those plants installed among the rocks on the side of it.
Again, thanks and Happy Gardening.
Glenna
Just glad you got to come and stay as long as you did Glenna. You missed out on a lot of door prizes, Frank called 13,14, & 15 several times! LOL!
Oh...I meant to say those of you with unlabeled plants look at your trade list and see if you got everything you were promised, then take pictures of those you don't have a clue on. Post here and someone can id eventually.

Robert and I had a great time in spite of the weather. I appreciate all of you who shared plants with me and those who brought such good food. We would not have a swap like this one without the efforts of these hardworking, caring people -- Sheila and Herman and Josephine and Frank. Thank you!
Glenna, I put the plants I brought for you under your name on the table, not realizing you had already left. Others took them home at the end, so I'll bring more for you in the fall. If I missed giving promised plants to anyone else, please let me know.
Can we start a separate "What is this RU Plant?" thread please?
Thanks for taking all my plants and giving them a good home. I definitely came to give all my surplus and not receive much in return this year. Fun time. Thanks to the organizers.
Chuck....I could kick myself for not returning to get the seeds you were going to share. May I send a SASE and get you to send those to me?
Stephanie...I will start another thread as you asked.
Here it is everyone... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1177570/#top

Patrob, really wanted the liatris and yarrow but you were in a conversation with someone and I didn't want to interrupt and just couldn't take the cold any longer. But I think I have more than sufficient plants to keep me digging for a while anyway. LOL. At least after the rain it will be easier to dig up the last area that will complete my back yard makeover except that area has asian jasmine in it and it may take dynamite to get that out.
Glenna
Glenna, I took the yarrow home. So when the fall roundup come round remind me and I will bring it to you.
Kate
The one Dennis had looks like a Coleus to me... (The lime color serrated leaves with no shine...) Did anyone give coleus this year?
It also resembles the hydrangea Smockette brought..
What do yall think?
This message was edited May 2, 2011 12:00 PM
That's very sweet of you, Kate, but I have lots of white yarrow and will have more for Glenna, and anyone else who wants some, in the fall.
If Josephine brought the Ageratina herbacea I bet that is what Dennis has, sure looks like it. Didn't see anyone with coleus but then I was at the sign in until after lunch.
More discussion on ids is on the new thread here....

Sheila, that is a lantana, pink and yellow. It was not something I pretraded with you and I guess the label dropped somewhere. It was something I gave you near the end of trading. The strange coloring is not normal. I think some N deficiency, maybe. I need to warn people that not all of the potting mix I used was very high quality. Some was but near the end I ran out of the good stuff. Check yours and re-pot if you plan to leave what I gave you in the pot and the soil looks poor.
Mary and I arrived home safely but the front followed us home...Nice cool temps this AM but, alas, no rain. We had such a good time! I can imagine how great it would have been if it had not been so cold. I think we would have chatted more about the plants we were giving and receiving and perhaps I would have gone around after and looked at what everyone was offering on the top of their table.
It was my first RU and man, you guys really know how to do it!
For those of you responsible for organizing and getting us all together...Many, Many thanks. An especial thanks to Jo who loaned me a jacket and Smockette's mom who huddled close to me. I loved meeting everyone and fitting a face to the quirky user names we all have. On the way home, Mary and I talked about how without the internet, it would not be as easy for like minds to get together like this. Another reason and another way to enjoy DG.
The food was scrumptious. I did not get to taste everything but I would definitely like the recipe for the watermelon salsa and the sopapilla cheese cake.
Congratulations to you all for the successful RU. Hope everyone came away as happy as my friend and I. Cam

Hey Lady, how was your trip back home?
Yes....great Marty thanks for doing that! I too hope you had a great trip home. Houston was a "fur peice to go" for our RU, but so glad you and Mary did! Hope you each went home with a bunch of plants.
Yep, Msgrubbyfungus brought a mix of coleus... Not sure if thats one of the lime ones. Yall will confirm if it is, and see if dennis remembers getting it from her.
