Is it Spring anywhere? #2

Elgin, IL(Zone 5a)

Iris, I love your lily. I've never heard of it - you have some unique ones.

BP, one of my Silk Roads moved to the surface - it was visible - and HUGE. I dug it up, put it in a pot with one of my roses and it shot up like a rocket.

I was given two lovely bulbs (Pink Heaven, an LO) I neglected so long that they sprouted in their package, and then planted terribly. They did not bloom last year. This year I dug them up and put them in a pot and I can almost hear their little voices squeaking "thank you! thank you!") as they grow like mad.

I thought I wa the only one who heard bulb talk. I never mentioned it because of
you - - - know ,being commited to the booby hatch.

Oh, GE, I'm long past the bobby hatch stage! (Do yours have squeaky voices too?)

Why nooooo! Low soft Lauren Bacall type.

Irisluvr0252, my friend who passed gave me a container of Madonnas. I loved them. One year all bloomed after being planted outside. The next year a few. After that. Nothing. I haven't tried them since, but I really liked them.

Donna, I left it and it's growing just fine. I wonder why they do that? I need to research it.

Isn't Silk Roads a fairly new one, and an Oriental? I think mine is an Asiatic.

Awww! Squeakys. I've read that lily bulbs never stop growing and need replanrted immediatly. That's why I don't get them from Walmart.

Ge, nope, we all hear them :o)

ROTFL!!! I like Lauren :o)

I guess as long as they don't sound like Yosemite Sam we're all OK, LOL!

Jmorth, that's a lot of buds on a Pixie! Love the bright yellow color!

BP,

Madonnas are fussy and temperamental. And they seem to need a lot of time to build up strength. I've seen the "this year I bloom, next I don't" thing from them. I'll think they are gone. I am seeing foliage from some I planted three years ago that then disappeared. You want to smack them, but then they are so beautiful.

Silk Road is an indestructible Orienpet. A real honey. I just find the stem a bit unattractive, so I hide it. Here is a pic from a couple of years back.

hmmm.....I have one that sounds like Elmer Fudd! My flowers talk to me all the time.

Donna, laughing, mine just never came back and I couldn't even find the bulb. Smack them, LOL!!

Oh, how beautiful!! That may be on my order sheet next year!

Iris, rolling on the floor! How many flowers are from the Looney Tunes?

I have one that looks and sounds like Audrey 2.

Donna, Silk Road is amazing. That a lotta lilies for 2 stems. Just gorgeous. Hope they produce as well or even better this year. My orienpets are strong and sturdy (and tall), but I don't see any buds yet this year.

Cathy - it's ONE STEM! See what I mean bout vigor. There is another one next to it!

Here is a pic from 2007.
