Crested Pigeon (Australian native)
Daily Bird Pics Vol. 395
Lily... I have seen our GBH do the same thing! It is a strange pose, and I am not sure of the reason!
Sunbathing
Resin
Good to see you back Margaret! Lovely pics!
Red, Best of luck with the new camera. I know you'll love it.
Red, you'll have to set up a little bird blind!
welcome back Margaret. That spoonbill is a stunner. Alan Murphy would be proud of you. ;)
Not sure if this is a worm or a piece of grass or something, but I think it is a worm, first time I have ever seen them eating worms. I did not know they ate them, the peanut butter worked but as I said before I need to get it into the cracks more where the squirrels can't reach it. Everybody has been taking great pics, I agree, if someone has a extra Pileated Woodpecker they don't want, send it my way!lol! Probably not much picture taking today, it is warm but of course rainy, the Irises are growing but not blooming even my neighbors whose Irises are way older than mine, his is not blooming because of all this rain. Maybe we will get a little shot of sunshine today, I sure hope so, my Cosmos don't like all this rain either. Good day to all.
Margaret, that Crested Pigeon is so cute!!
Red....Mrs. Ed is right...think that would be a perfect spot for a blind!
Went for a walk around the half mile circle with the dog in between showers and saw my First Eastern Phoebe and a female Indigo Bunting yesterday. Took Gus home and then I headed back out with the camera and they were gone. But did catch this this Blue-gray Gnatcatcher!
Nanny, that's a beautiful picture! Love the flowers too!
Margaret, OK, how is it that even your pigeons are more interesting than ours?! Very cool! That Swamphen is gorgeous. All lovely -- oh the osprey! You are queen of the ospreys.
Lily, nice heron shot. I love their weird poses.
Red, amazing bluebird shots and I just love your flycatcher shot.
My Indigo Bunting is still here! I'm taking pics like mad but he's staying in the shade. Also, I was really worried about my cardinals b/c they were acting weird yesterday like they were nesting again, so I was worried about their babes, but saw the male feeding a youngster this morning, so much relieved. At least one made it out of the nest and it's not a cowbird!
Going to High Island this afternoon! I can't wait. They've been seeing a Western Tanager which isn't even in my bird book and a Western Kingbird. I doubt I'll be that lucky, but fingers crossed!
Woo Hoo!! Just had our FOS Baltimore Oriole!!
Adel, lovely series of the Tree Swallows. Congrats Nan on the Orioles, please send me some. lol
Great shots nanny and adel!
Love those Tree Swallows!
