Dave another request!

Hello your neighborly pest here. I was wondering when we get links in posts, could you possibly make it so that they open in a new window automatically? I am one who always right clicks and opens in a new window. But some might find it easier to look at the link and refer back to the original message without having to use the back button. Just thought I would ask. Trying to make things easier for everyone but you...lol
Thanks
Holly

Holly,

Try holding down the shift key when you click. Does that work?

for me being in netscape it wants to save it. I am sure it does it in IE, which I use from time to time when netscape gets to be the pain in the butt it usually is. But like I said, I always right click on the link and open link in new window. :) Mostly looking out for others here. ANd for those of us who are lazy....lol
THanks for the superbly fast reply. Like always you are right on top of everything :)

Indeed, you are right that Netscape Navigator for Windows does not appear to have a magic "hold and click" to open in a new window.

How incredibly annoying.

Well, the reason why I don't have it default to open a new window is because I really dislike when other websites do that to me. I would prefer to have control of my own browser windows, and popups are such are the worst possible thing a webmaster can do to me. If figure that if I want the link opened in another window, I know how to do that myself. If I want it in the same window, I'll just click it regularly.

This was brought up once many months ago, and that was the answer I gave then. The majority agreed with me, so I left it as that. I would like to make it a preference option on a per-user basis, but I fear that, with so many links on DG, it would cause a serious "bogging down" of the server's resources.

A lengthy explanation! :)

Dave thats fine, and believe me I understand. Was a thought and I'm not gonna runaway just because you won't do it...lol Interesting how Netscape and IE are so different. If IE had a better mail program I would use that. But I like Netscapes mail better.
Anyhow, Thank you for answering my question and I understand.
