Daily bird pics #394

Norman, OK

Time to start a new parade of our beautiful feathered friends. One good thing here is the parade never ends, we just reload and keep marching!

We came from here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1171584/

A couple of new visitors from yesterday. Haven't had any Pine Siskens in months.

Very nice pics red! Nice seeing the Siskins and Bluebird babies! Thanks for starting the new thread!

From the last thread- Duc, wonderful shots of your Oriole, Tree Swallow and others! Lily, Hard to tell but I don't see the rusty cap on the head of that Sparrow.

Does anyone have a Pileated Woodpecker that drinks from the birdbath? i read in a article that they do, maybe if he won't come to the feeder, maybe he will the birdbath, what do you think?

Red, and Pelle, here is the same bird I was asking about from the last thread. It refused to give me a better pose. lol

OMG...baby BB's are so cute!!

Looks so nice at your house Lily!!

Teddy...Mine have not so far but I just got mine at the end of last summer. Also mine is just the bowl and it sits on the ground and they do land on the ground searching for bugs. So maybe they will this summer.

Nice one of a Brown Thrasher!

Another sterling start, everyone. It was dark and dismal here most of the day. Here is the Great Crested Flycatcher (with a lot of lightening).

I enjoy the Evening Grosbeaks, burn. I don't get to see them here, but have a condo booked for Sept in CO. I usually see some there. Yesterday was extremely windy here with speed up to 67 mph. Tough on the birds. In late afternoon I looked out and both the bluebirds were on the feeder, so I took that as a sign they had not caught enough bugs for the babies. I took some worms out and they both immediately grabbed a mouthful.

FOS Lark Sparrows showed up yesterday on the grain I throw out for doves and ground-feeding birds.

Nice to see the baby bb. I haven't seen any adults yet in my yard and think it is too late now.

I did see a Towhee digging and scratching in the leaves on the gound.

There are still a couple of juncos hanging around along with a couple of White Crowned sparrows.

Very cloudy outside. Maybe it will rain, If no rain I will have to irrigate, ground is getting dry.

Red, thank you for the new start. Glad you're enjoying the sweet pine siskins-I just love them. Your bb photos are so cute-love the whole family. Please stay safe in all those winds. You're so sweet to feed the extra helping of worms to the bbs.

Lily, sorry I can't help you with your sparrow id. Cute warbler and that cardinal is a beauty.

Nanny, love the color of your thrasher.

Burn those grosbeaks are sure pretty. Hope that waxwing is okay. Love the dove shot.

Adel great shots of your birds, especially the stellar jay. Great shot of the quail too.

GP, love your grackle shot and the bunting sure is pretty.

Donna, enjoy those juncos. Mine have left but I still have some white & golden crowned sparrows.

My crows were enjoying a drink in the garden yesterday.

I was really excited when my male Calliope Hummingbird arrived at the feeder yesterday. I posted more photos of him in Western Hummingbirds.

Very rainy today so probably won't get any pics, went down to the club this morning and I heard the Pileated. He was back in the woods which have a no trespassing sign in front of it so you can't go in there..

Marlton, NJ

Congrats on the Calliope duc!

Great pics everyone!

My hubby bought me 2 short shepherds hooks the other day, are they too short to put single hummingbird feeders on? The flowers there are my Irises and he put them on both sides of the Iris patch. The next picture shows it as good as I could get it. I just hope that no one steals them, or the hummingbird feeders.

Are they too low for the hummers to use? Some one told me that they would not use them because they were too low.

Hey. No one has put up a pic today. We don't get Sundays off here. From back in the archives, a Baltimore Oriole on my patio. Taken through by bedroom door.
