I planted lilies from the Lily Garden two falls ago. Seems like they came in fall not spring. All grew to plants and I believe they all bloomed though not very well. With the exception of Orania, Mother of Pearl, Pizzazz, Scheherazade I think. Ice Caves bloomed but looked rather mutated. I had to move them all last fall as I really planted them in the wrong place. We will see what happens this spring. We are of course way behind you all. Pips of peonies are just now showing, forget lilies for another month

Mstella, if you've got peony pips, you're doing great. It's been much warmer here, going into the high 50s and 60s, and they're loving it.

We've put up some netting to protect the lilies from those little bunnies, but for us it is really necessary to spray. The spray, which makes the plants taste bad, protects against deer and rabbits as well as lily beetles. Since the beetles lay eggs in the soil, I'm trying to get a leg up by spraying now, before I see adults.

The lilies are just starting; many are 2-3 inches high, but there are lots more to come. I just don't what the deal is with the tulips. They're just starting to form bud now.

It's sort of raining outside right now and 49 degrees and rising. The lilies are smiling, even the ones in containers.

Thank goodness I haven't seen the lily beetles yet. Crossing my fingers

Did you have them last year?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

They are in certain areas. They came into the country along the east shore. Cant remember just all particulars but the offending plant was an Easter lily.

None here yet but I am in NY right by the Mass border so I worry

Im spray when lilies are up enough to see. I drench the soil with Bayer 12month tree and shrub.Duering the season I spray mid summer to cathe the second eg cycle.I use Sevin then.

I would use those treatments if we did not also grow tomatoes, cucumbers and a few other treats. So I used this spray which is nontoxic, just makes the plants taste bad to 4-legged and 6-legged creatures.

It is oil based, so it does not wash off in the rain. Although I need to dilute, application is easy and painless. The product also comes already mixed, in a large pink sprayer, but this is actually easy to mix and much easier to store. The odor it leaves is oil of cloves.

I wouldn't mind that scent at all!
