Central Texas Rain Dance "feel free to vent"

San Marcos, TX(Zone 8b)

We were very fortunate to get over an inch at our house tonight. I think we might even get a 1/3 inch at the orchard. I saw the storms on the radar and got on my road bike and started riding towards the storm around 9:15pm. I rode until I saw lightning strike very close and then roped a cloud and hauled it on back home.

At least that is what I thought I was doing in my mind. I did get a bit dicey at one point when I could smell that ozone burning like you do before a lightning strike. I just kept pedaling as fast as I could.

By the way, I have so many lights on my bike that it looks like a XMAS tree.

YAY!

We had a gully washer here. On the news last night, they said San Marcos was having hail. I wondered about your orchard....?

I think we escaped without any damage.

We got enough friday to get the patio wet..... barely! Hoping for some this evening but it looks like it is all east and south of us. It is great to hear that some of you are getting a little of what you need.

Looks like I only got about 1/5th of an inch at the orchard but I finished hooking up the irrigation to the county water and will be testing it tomorrow. I hope the water pressure is really good. I am at the bottom of a hill and I purchased a 3/4 inch connection instead of a 1/2 or 5/8th.

Two more chances for rain in central Texas. Monday and Wednesday night. Lets all hope for the best FOR EVERYONE!!!!
