Pelle, Wonderful WP pics! I had to take down our Woodpecker feeders. The darn Starlings just drove them away and the likelyhood any of our birdhouses would be nil if I left them up too. There is more peace in the yard now, but it tears my heart up watching the Downys keep coming back in hopes it's not a mistake that their feeders aren't up anymore...big sad sigh.
Hack, Great pics...love the Carolina Chickadees :D
Methodical, Wish we had those birds around here! The Tree Swallows and Red-bellied Woodpecker I can go to a local park to see, but the others I have still yet to add to my lifer list!
LEW_TEX, Cool pics of the Buzzard!
Reddirt, Great Brown Pelican captures!
Resin, Lovely Swan!
Teddy, You've made a friend :)
Elphaba, Neat Swainson's Hawk!!!
Nanny, you're lucky to see those Myrtle Warblers! :)
Burn, Nice Bohemian Waxwing and love the Evening Grosbeak capture!!
Adelbertcat, That male Boat-tail Grackle is quite the stud-muffin...lol
Ok, I just have a few recent pics...

DAILY BIRD PICS VOL. 392
Great pics from everyone!
Love those Egret shots Elphaba!
Beautiful Red-tailed Hawk and others Susan!
Wonderful, Wonderful pictures. thanks everyone for taking and sending along so we can all enjoy the beauty of our birds.
Donna
Red, I meant to compliment your shots of the Pelicans took in Tx, wow I didn't think I'd see Pelicans in my neck of the woods. But this morning from a distance DH said "Hmmm, there are 6 white ducks across the lake". I zoomed in and found half a dozen Pelicans!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. 1st time ever!
Susan it fascinating to see such large number of birds flying on the sky, during their migration?
Elphaba - I LOVE your hummer shot. It's postcard perfect. Can't wait till my 1st one shows. Weird weather, tho. Temps all over the place & still not a lot blooming.
Lily_love -- congrats on the pelicans! Some cool bird there.
SusanLouise, nice shots! Nice capture on that red-winged blackbird especially!
OK, I've narrowed down the Roseate Spoonbill shots to three favorites. It's too bad I was there in midday. I need to go back closer to sunset. In this one you can see the front of the bill and the back of the bill and wings open and wings closed!
Isn't that rookery something? Too bad we can't provide audio. When you start walking through the woods from the parking area, it sounds like a bunch of hogs rooting. Just a cacophony of the calls of the different species. Lots of squabbling going on for nesting space, trespassing and fighting over sticks.
We thoroughly enjoyed High Island. Took a scenic route back and stopped at Big Thicket for a few hours. It's good to be home. The scissortails and barn swallows returned while we were gone and we have 3 newly hatched bluebird babies and 2 eggs remaining. You can search 'Bluebird Diary' for more details.
This guy was at the rookery too, but I doubt many people noticed him.

Fantastic shots of those Roseate Spoonbills Elfy. Red, the frog is big! We've a fantastic variety of birds on this thread!!!
Red, yes, just amazing! Love that frog shot. Like you, I noticed an animal that was being ignored. I pointed it out to a few people before it disappeared though b/c I'd never seen the likes of it before. After looking at photos online, I think it's a Texas Spiny Softshell Turtle -- not sure though. Most of the turtles around were Red-eared Sliders, but this one looked different to me.
It's hard to stick to birds sometimes huh?!
Went to Lakeview to take trash over and looked at the lake and saw all these little black spots on the water, when we came back, we stopped and it was Coots, a whole lot of them, there must have been 20 or more in one area. Of course, did not have my camera with me, but there was a lot of them. I have heard people talking about them but did not know what they were, now I know. I was sitting outside and saw Mama rb wp in our tree and she was not too sure about me, maybe if I sit there enough times she might get used to me. Do ya think so?
gosh just loving all the pics Elphaba & Red have posted!!
Teddy...yes if you do it on a regular basis the birds get used to you. Some more than others.
Great shots everyone! Boy this thread is flying by so fast!
