Old pantyhose work well as wings too. I can show you how I made some if you want. Although who wears pantyhose these days? ^_^

Spring Round Up, Anyone? - p.2
Well guys, we are in the middle of "High Winds". It is stripping leaves off of trees and breaking branches. We live in The Canyons near Red Rock Mountains and you cannot see the mountains for blowing sand. I took the dogs for a walk and it was actually scary. The landscapers showed up today and told them not to waste their time.
I had the windows cleaned Tuesday and with all the dust blowing out there, I am sure we will get a few droops of rain just to mess up the windows.
My DH, Vern is starting to eat more. I do not know why but I will not question. He is also walking better. My shoulder is getting better but I know I need to go to the doctor and have it looked at.
Later friends, Sharon
Take care of yourself. Good idea sending the gardeners home today. I'm glad your DH's appetite is picking up a bit. He had a scary health thing a while back, too. Mostly, Sharon, we want you to get better.
Have you ever noticed it always rains after you wash your car or the windows of your house?
Never fails. : - }
Miss you GF!

WormsLovSharon are you 'sure' you wouldn't rather be at the RU instead of tornado alley up there? ^_^
Heather
Okay everyone, we will be having the RU inside the Barn, so follow the directions to the Bee Barn.
DH is going to turn on the wax melter which will keep it much warmer in there for those of us who can't handle the cold temps. DH is going to have the picnic tables cleaned and moved inside the Bee Barn, so we'll have plenty of places to sit and eat, and put stuff.
Lots of room on the concrete pad for plants. Not sure exactly how he intends to set it up but am willing to let him run with it. : - )
Do remember that it will be cold and windy, even if it doesn't rain here tomorrow. Dress accordingly.
I don't know if I'll be able to get the signs to stay up with the rains and the winds. So let google maps or your GPS be your guide. LOL! : - )
If you forget them, be sure to bring DH's phone # because he gives great directions. : - )
Hopefully we'll see everyone here about 11:00 tomorrow morning. : - )
Drive careful, and be safe~

Hi Jules,
I've been waiting till the last minute to let you know if I'd be able to come or not. Sorry to say, it's not in the cards at this time.
I started a new Chemo treatment 2 weeks ago and I was hoping I would be used to it by now, not happening.
I am so sad, as this will be my first RU I have missed since the beginning of them. There are so many new people to meet too, but hopefully that will happen another time also.
I hope you all have a wonderful time and I promise to be there in spirit, ok?
Donna
So sorry to hear Donna won't be able to make it to the round up, but we all will be thinking about her. Hope the new treatments help you. Hugs and lots of love and prayers.
Pegi
Prayers for you Donna, did not know you were going through the Big C. We will miss you in person, but know you will be there in spirit.
Lynda
I'm sad my friend Donna can't be there, but it's more important for you to take care of you. (I called you earlier this week.) You will always be a part of the RU's.
I want to thank Jules and Jack for hosting a GREAT Round Up for us all. You are very gracious hosts and your location, including the Bee Barn for bad weather back-up, is great.
It was so much fun seeing old DG friends again and meeting new ones! Great food and wonderful plants to trade. Thanks to everyone for those and thanks to Heather for sharing her bowling ball project.
Whar's the Pichurs?? Jo
That would be Weegy and SW as they had their cameras. Weegy said she will post on the RU Forum.
Missed you and your cheery face
I am so glad that you had such a wonderful time. I wish I was there and I missed everybody. Maybe next year .
I can hardly wait to hear more and see all the pictures.
Jules and Jack
Thank you, thank you for such a wonderful experience yesterday.
Love you both,
Sylvia and Rob
Jules and Jack, what great hosts you are for another great round up. It really was a great day, enjoyed all the friendly people and wonderful food. And thanks Jules for the fresh eggs. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures. And thanks Heather for all the tilels, etc. Now I don't have an excuse for not making mosaics.
Pegi & Darwin
Oh my Shermie. Hope you are better, a prayer for you certainly. Gee, we could have come over as a troupe to cheer you up. You were missed and I had looked forward to meeting you. (like you live so far away, lol) Hope you are feeling better.
Oops, I posted this to the wrong thread, so here ya go again. (I admit I'm a good kind of tired and prone to make mistakes.)
It was a wonderful day, and we all had a great time. : - )
I will post photos on the RU link, 'cause I did take photos of people. : - )
But not until tomorrow soonest. I am very tired today. Didn't realize it but I was on my feet for most of the 14 hours I was out yesterday. : - )
Didn't feel it til I sat down at home though. : - )
I thoroughly enjoyed myself and getting to meet people. gr8caytes bowling ball project was a lot of fun, and everyone enjoyed the tour of the bee barn & the hay ride. : - )
No one forgot anything this time either, and weegy even found her favorite sweater she'd left here last year!! Yippee!
I want to thank everyone for helping out like they did. Thanks to QuiltyGirl for tagging everyone with name tags. : - )
Weegy for co-ordinating the food and for the emergency call about DH buying Instant Coffee. Weegy saved the day for all the coffee drinkers. : - )
Thank you weegy! : - )
Thanks to Samigal for showing up early and helping with the set-up! : - )
Thank you to Heather aka gr8cayte, for bringing the bowling balls and crafting materials. Not to mention half of your yard. : - )
We're gonna miss you on the CA forum, but we know you'll have some good DG'er's to hang out with in Texas.
We took a minute, to remember our friends who weren't able to attend, Donna, Kathleen, Sherry, Sharon, Marie, Jo, Rodica, you were really missed.
I also wanted to thank everyone who was able to attend for bringing all the great food. Yummies! : - )
Mostly, I want to thank my summer kid, Jake for his help in preparing for the RU, and my DH, for being a good sport, for setting up the picnic & food tables, and being an helpful and good host during the RU. Should also thank my ES for bringing the tables up and washing them clean. They do get dirty outside.
All in all it was a good day. Mostly sunny, but cold in the middle of the day, with the clouds and wind coming in by late afternoon.
Thanks to everyone who attended for making it such an enjoyable RU. : - )
Walk In Beauty!

Sorry to hear that you are sick Sherman, feel better.
Thanks again to Jack and Jules, great job, great turnout, great food...and most of all...great company. The weather was gorgeous, the whole day could not have been better except if our missing friends could have been there.
I am sorry I missed out this year. Sounds like a great time was had by all though!!
Yes, we missed our AZ/NV contingent! Hopefully the next RU will have the oldies and newbies (LOL about the oldies, as my first RU was 2009!).
AAAWWW Now she is "guilty" of being a nice person...again! LOL Jo
I finally got a hen & chicks, had to go to a nursery and was surprised there are different kinds. Got a spaghetti squash plant that I have been looking for, could have spent all day in that great place looking at all the plants. Now I have to get busy and plant them in my raised bed.
Well I blew it for 2011...any luck on 2012? When is it; I have lots of succulents I have planted, and am ready to try to be there this year...you wouldn't believe!! Anyway, thanks.
