xGloximannia 'Medea'. I don't know if that's right. I got it from Rob's and I love it regardless of what it is. The plant looks more like a Seemannia without any evidence of a Gloxinia perennis which would be in the parentage of 'Medea'.

I love the deep color!

Sinningia muscicola aka 'Rio Das Pedras'. A wonderful micro mini species with very cool foliage.

Such a cute micro mini, I always have problem taking a descent picture, yours looks great!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Is that in a 1oz solo cup?

Chicago, IL(Zone 6a)

Thanks carpathiangirl! It's a real happy little plant.

Syrumani: I don't know if it is a one ounce. The cup is 1 1/4 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches wide.

This is a picture of the plant right after I got it. Unfortunately it lost a few leaves on the way home but it has almost replaced them by now.

Sinningia 'Yma' (S. muscicola x S. bullata, hybridized by Jim Steuerlein). One of my favorite mini Sinningias.

It looks like the shallow 2 ounce cups they sell at restaurant supply stores.

It's the size that comes with cough syrup bottles.

No kidding! I have even used the used up k-cups from my coffee maker for leaves and small plants!

Chicago, IL(Zone 6a)

Precisely! Every little plastic or glass container works. I've used coffee cups on occasion. I just bought a pack of paper bathroom cups for that purpose. 200 little pots for like 3 bucks was a pretty good deal I thought. They might be tacky but they serve their purpose. LOL

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Be careful with the paper ones though. They will not last long. The plastic or plastic coated last forever.

Chicago, IL(Zone 6a)

I repot frequently to prevent salt build up. The paper ones last about 6 months and remind me to repot by starting to deteriorate. :)

Longboat Key, FL(Zone 9b)

Wow another lesson learned - I have "K" cups. When the kids come tons.......

better than egg styro cartons.......TU girls

OMG Omg she has survived 6 months and is blooming. What a woman - would not fit into a "K" cup. Needs a LOT of TLC as you can see by the leaf amputation. Loves warm, warm, warm, wet, wet, wet.
Never grew anything in these conditions. Thank you Tish.

Is that Cleopatra Helene? Congratulations on the bloom! That is a pretty little blue trailer. She needs her name. I don't recognize the Optimara, but she's beautiful.
Spring! I've been outside lots lately, enjoying the azaleas, iris, lillie, glads, daffodils, hydrangeas... Here's a calla lilly.

Yes, the real "Cleo" needs damp and warm OMG never grew anything in such humidity.
Blue trailer is beautiful.

i had so many variaties of peonies in NY miss all that.

Chicago, IL(Zone 6a)

This is a picture of a show plant. I bet, the exhibitor let a bit of "steam" out of the terrarium before the judging.

And your Cleopatra is beautiful. Usually they remove the flowers before a show because they supposedly distract from the foliage and the colors clash. Well, that's not my opinion but that's what they do...

I thought, this Achimenes erecta 'Tiny Red' was just adorable. I can't wait for my own rhizomes to sprout.

Seen at the plant show and sale of the Northern Illinois Gesneriad Society @ Chicago Botanic Garden, 03/19/2011.

OHHH that show cleopatra is sooO great. Years ago, in our Hudson highlands AV club we had a gentleman come with one each and every year at show time, and each and every year so beautiful thats what got me hooked. But so hard to grow.

Perhaps I should fertilize a bit?? any thoughts on this? I just let he be under glass and hardly ever have to water.

The orange flowers do distract - should be pink.

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Beautiful pictures everybody....drool.

Helene, I grow my Canadian Cleo under a dome with a fairly large hole in the top and my other Cleo with less air-holes.I fertilize them very little and just check them once in awhile.Yours appears to be the Canadian.Very nice !!

I haven't grown a pink Episcia yet but since they grow a lot slower than their non-pink brethren, I wouldn't feed them a lot either. Less is more.

E. "Pink Smoke" has pink leaves and pink flowers as far as I remember.

Olaf

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

I think,(but I'm not positive),that Pink Smoke has an orange flowered cultivar and a pink one.

Oh I am glad to know that it is the Canadian - didn't know. I do have another one that was labeled Canadian That one I grow in a ginger Jar on its side so it does get air.

It is good to talk about these things here. Inspiring!

Helene,
Your jars look great! My large Cleo is in 2 salad bowls clipped together with a hole in the top.I like the little jars from the dollar store for my Sinns, but sometimes they grow a little over the top.

Lynn

Longboat Key, FL(Zone 9b)

Thank you - I happen to have these things. And they do look good in the DR.

Today I went to the meeting of the Northern Illinois Gesneriad Society and this is some of my loot:
