Weather in your garden # 92
Thunderstorm here
We had it too, Jen. Lots of lightning.
34° light snow forecast starting tonight.
I'm in Southampton...icy drizzle here, at least so far...
More Snow for Sunday!
... forgot my yippee.
Yippee!
Can do without the snow; not sure about yippee.
It's a four season yippee. (lol!)
Four-letter yippee!

32 and sunny. The snow stayed away here.
88 days, 23 hours, 8 minutes until first day of summer.
Hey Northeasterners, new to this thread, I'm from mid Orange county NY...bulk of the snowstorm missed us...one hour south (Denville?) got much more...but the sun is warm and old man winter is history! Glad to find a bunch of gardener people who have same weather whoas and whoopees. Lottabeds
Greetings, Lotta. I'm not far from you - Rockland County. Please join in!
snow showers off & on, some heavier than others, however it did not stick.
The inch or so we got melted this afternoon, but it's supposed to be in the 20s tonight. So we are trying to figure out how to cover the containers because a number of bulbs are starting to bud. (I'd bring them in, but there are some big containers!)
Drove to Morristown today, it looks like they got a little more than us.
Welcome lotta!
Amy, I don't think you should have to cover the bulbs in the containers
Hmmm... i thought a freeze would kill off/ severely damage anything that had budded..?
hello Lotta!!!
40 degrees here and the snow is gone. We didn't lose our first day of spring break. Now, if we can just keep the snow at bay for two more weeks! There's kind of a lot of rain predicted for a week from now, but I can live with that I think.
Spring bulbs don't mind cold frost and snow a bit! Not to worry, as a matter of fact a cool and frosty spring makes for a very good spring bulb season...heat knocks them out fast...so enjoy ! Does anyone in this group have the same problem that I do...too many obsessions with too many things throughout the season? I thought by now I would have been under control. Daylilies, dahlias, irises, herbs, seed starting of all things edible and pickable, all that goes into the making of a garden of ornamental edibles...I am the gullible victim of magazine spreads, and gorgeous photography...I want to live in the head of Rosalind Creasy. Work gets in the way. (thank you for listening!) Lottabeds
LOL, if you could but see my laundry room, now a makeshift greenhouse!
Well, we moved the containers to where i have a bed of bulbs, and tented the whole thing with lightweight plastic on bamboo rods - i'll pull it off in the morning. Figure it won't hurt but it could help... :)
Completely obsessed with the irises; everything else is extra.
Nice to hear from another obsessed planter. It's 21 degrees this morning. The house is really cold! Hope the sun comes out later. I remind myself, 'it's still just March.'
26 now going to 42... house felt cold when I got up too
25 going up to 36 today.
