Leaf blower.
Snow is melting, how are your plants looking? pt 2
Better than a snow blower!
groaan. i suppose the plow guys are oiling up the mowers.
we have batallions of them in this hood.
still too wet here to do yard work.
All the blowing/mowing/edging is just too loud and too long since the same company does several properties here. I have to learn to go out shopping when they arrive.
Wednesday is the day here 3 different landscape mower plower guys come.
Then on Sat. there are 2 different ones.
I'm the only one that hires a company, my neighbors all choose different days to do their mowing, so the sound of loud machines is pretty constant here....plus the whine of radio-controlled planes from the dam, along with the very noisy, dirtbikes there! Oh, & the motorcycles racing up our "scenic" hill!
The cigarette boats and the boats teens run around in, with those horribly noisy motors, along with jet skis, drive me inside on the hot days in summer. I guess respect for others is a thing of the past.
We have inland lakes nearby. Jet skies and large wake boats are not allowed.
We have big limits on them for use in the harbor on Nantucket too, so they aren't very popular as they have to take them out to the sound to do their silly donuts on a chainsaw thing which is a long way. Talk about a dumb time in the great outdoors. Going in circles, nowhere. Patti
We have rules against them but maybe one of us has encountered a teen somewhere in our lives that will not follow the rules.
Adults who drink and boat are the worst.
I never had a teen who didnt listen LOL
My daughters are in their 50's now and its payback time.
I say nothing.
Looks like the deer ate my small Little Honey oakleaf hydrangea to the ground, among others.
Is it possible that we could hate them more than we do, Victor?
No.
That stinks
edited for spelling

I'm sure there is more too. Deer crap all over.
Kind of adds insult to injury, doesn't it?
Sure does.
they eat your stuff and poop on you - a polite deer would not add insult to glutany!
They are marking their territory for next year's eats.
They ate my Pinkie Dinkie and all the Heucheras.
If they ate my Pinkie Dinkie I might like them.
I give up. What is a Pinke Dinkie or shouldn't I ask?
I'm probably wrong. Its a small oakleaf Hydrangea.Might be Pee Wee. I nuts with thye names.
They ate 4 of my Hyds.Thats all I own.
Oh, you were talking about a plant?!!! ^_^
VICTOR!!!
Thought I lost my white lilac I received from Celeste(thanks again!!!) but the end just broke under the snow weight. I see a bud growing farther down the branch...whew....
Two of my JMs eaten....don't know if it was deer or squirrels.......hoping they will come back.....the Jms, that is!
Ge 1836, Horrible news about your Pinkie DInkie and heuchera. I think it is Pee Wee, but size doesn't matter nor it's name. They have always munched on Hydrangea, but never heuchera.
I saw two small branches taken off of a Japanese maple, but down low, so it might be a rabbit. I need to check the bit mark to see who was the evil one. I wouldn't have noticed them being gone, if they hadn't been bright red coral bark, Acer Sango-kaku, I am planting a mess more Japanese maples in the same area this spring, so I hope this isn't a sign that I can't plant them out in the deer/rabbit part of our property. Always something. Patti

My collard green are coming back! Who knew they would over winter.
Have one tree I planted last year that is totally thawed out...no snow and it looks good.
Yay, Pixie! Gee, Memory, I'm surprised they overwintered.....my scallions did....they are putting out new growth now.
Hi, I just jumped over here from the weather thread. I have been outside. The weather is beautiful by the way. I'm finding new growth everywhere. It's so exciting.
Victor I'm sorry to hear about the hydrangea. The deer have eaten off the flower buds on mine every year so far, but this time I went out the first weekend in March and sprayed the heck out of it with liquid fence. So far no damage. That said, the shrub itself has always recovered and they leave it alone once summer comes. Is yours a new one?
Robin and pirl, I live on a busy road and spring means teenagers and motorcycles revving their motors and running up and down the road. So much for enjoying the peace and quiet outdoors.
We don't get the motorcycles but we do get bicycles because we're on the bike route for the North Fork. They're nice, quiet and respectful. How I wish the noisy boaters would learn from the bikers.
What makes you say that???
^_^
Geeeeezus,I'll say!!!
Reminds me of some people at the beach.
What a heartache. Sorry, Louise.
