Is Canada annexing the US?

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Don't know where to bring this up, but in the Membership List section where it lists members in Canada by Provience, there is one listing each for Iowa and South Carolina. No big deal, just puzzling.???

Not sure what Iowa's deal is, but we had been trying to secede for a century.

Just kidding, of course! I love this country. Naturally, that's an error of some kind. I recall it being discussed a year or so ago in this same forum. Guess no one ever got around to fixing it - or maybe Dave was mad with us for some reason. Hope you get it fixed this time. I really liked being part of the US.

Oh.. you could not handle those canadian winters!!

Charleston, SC(Zone 9a)

Oh, wait 1 minute here. I didn't realize they were going to make us move physically. Oh, no, you're right, Terese, I would be crying for home after the 1st real snow fall. This past winter when we got down to the low 20's overnight, I was just miserable. That does it, I want back in the US!

It could just be accidental errors on the part of those two people--state/province and country are two separate drop-down boxes in the location preferences, so it wouldn't surprise me out of the thousands and thousands of members here if there were 2 people who accidentally picked Canada as their country by mistake. Or maybe they used to live in Canada and assumed when they moved here and chose IA/SC for their location that the country would have automatically changed too.

e3 -- that makes sense...

Or it could be the budget thing. Maybe the US had to sell us to Canada to balance the...No, I think ecrane's idea makes more sense now that I think about it.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I think it is a mistake in the drop down choices like Liz suggested. We have several members from Afghanistan too (which is the next choice under the USA)

The conjecture is a lot more fun than the probable reality ;-)

Heh, heh....

It can also be someone with a weird sense of humor...

Then I hereby request that never-never-land be added to the list of residences. That's where I wanna be from. Peter Pan is my hero and I don't wanna grow up either.

You'd be amazed at where some of our international friends hail from. There are countless permutations and combinations of cities, states/provinces and countries :)

What really amazes me is how global this site is with folks 10 hardiness zones and 2 continents away from someone with a problem can give them their answer, that someone who lives in a Zone 1 can identify someone's obscure plant in an equitorial desert region.

What if they somehow listed both? SC has an unusually high number of folks who have houses in both Canada and SC. With our gazillion military bases we have plenty of folks, including some avid gardeners, in Afganistan right now.
