Burd, that female Merganser is absolutely gorgeous! Nice shot of the meadowlark in flight too. Love all your photos!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Wow Burd....beautiful!! I went down to the lake and saw 1 pair of geese & that was it . Was totally bummed!

This Blue Jay was waiting for its turn very patiently this morning.

This poor Red Bellied Woodpecker flew into the window so hard that he broke his beak... I wrapped him in a towel to keep him warm while he regained his senses. When I let him go, he took off and hasn't been back!

Beautiful start Dave with your "other" blue bird!! Love all your pics and the one of the finch on your camera is priceless...thanks for the new thread!

You guys are busy as beavers and I am loving all your pics.

Nanny...congrats on Towhee, I haven't seen ours again and have not heard him either. I am happy though that the Meadowlarks are back and singing!

Marlton, NJ

Nice pic nanny!

Rose1656, Awwwww, I'm so glad he was alright. They are one of my favorites. Thanks so much for taking the pic!

Dellrose, Good to see you!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I tried to post earlier, typed a long post then my pc went kaput, so I lost all what all I commented. So let me say everyone pix is wonderful. Rose1656, I'm glad you took the time to help out the little one. Dellrose, hello! Long time no type. :)

Gp, Love that pose you caught of the Mockingbird!! Nice shots!

Is that spoon feeder new?

Melbourne, FL

Yes it is. Very small, but kind of cute.

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

GP...I saw a Mockingbird doing the same thing yesterday. At the time I thought he was displaying for his mate in preparation for "party time"!!

Rose...forgot to mention earlier what a cute shot of your Woodpecker and so glad he was able to fly away.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

So… appears as if you were being flirted with, GP!

Lakeview, OH

I sure hope the wp will be able to eat ok with a broken beak, I thank you very much for helping him out. I am glad to see that there is someone else that cares for the babies like me.

Cute one Lily!!

I just saw the Mockingbird doing his thing again so I researched it a bit and discovered that it isn't really clear why they do the display that I saw. I will try and get a shot of him though as it looks like he is flashing!!

Capt. Hook is still doing well here on the farm!

Rose, I am looking forward to seeing more of your Mockingbirds. I believe both Mockingbirds and Northern Cardinal 'patrol' their territory and guard everyone else youngings. They do serve the community in some big tasks. :)

Glad to see Capt. Hooks doing well on the farm. The name is so very fitting. Love those Sparrows too, they are the first to scurry back into the bush when I'm out in the garden, but will be right back to forage on the open ground. I still looking for a photo opt. on the elusive but charming Juncos.

Most of my Goldfinches have left me for Northward bound? Only saw this one on mid-day yesterday. None today -- yet.

Nanny, glad your little jay waits its turn for the feed-mine seem kinda pushy.

Rose1656, so sorry about your sweet little woodpecker. I do hope it will survive.

Lily, hope that cardinal keeps coming back to your feeder. Cute "look atcha" picture.

GP, I love it when the mockers show off like that. I wonder if it may have been attracting a female, although yours probably nest earlier than ours. Love your photos, especially that last one at the spoon-cute.

Rose, fantastic shot of Capt. Hook-he's beautiful. The other photos of your birds are just beautiful.

I'm still seeing this cute slate-colored (rare in our area) Junco here.

This female Downy comes for peanut butter several times a day. I love the way she presses her tail to the log for support.

This morning I've watched at least 500 Robins in our trees and eating the remaining berries. Guess this means they'll soon be leaving us.

This Bewick's Wren seemed to be singing to a mate.

It kept singing for several minutes so I was able to get lots of photos.

My hubby took this one while the snow was still here, it looks like he was getting ready to fly. I tweaked it with Irfanview.
