Oops, I posted on the wrong thread!

Say, is anyone going to bring coffee? I have the big urn type pot, but since I don't drink coffee, I don't make it very well. : - (
Last year Desert Pirate took care of it, but he won't be attending this year. Still need a volunteer! : - )
I also have a dedicated hot water pot and hot chocolate/tea.
Might be good for someone else that has a long way to travel to bring coffee? Just a thought.
We might need condiments too, sugar, creamer. ketchup? LOL!
Time is getting short, and we still haven't heard back from a few of you.
Please let us know, as soon as you can!
Thanks!

I didn't think about keeping food hot when I said I would bring mealballs in BBQ sauce, is this a problem? Some things keep me awake at night or I have wierd dreams about it. Coming a long way and don't know if I can keep my dish hot until we eat.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

No worries Samigal. When you get here, we'll plug your crock pot in. It looks like we're going to have a chance of showers, and we'll probably set up the food and plants inside the bee barn (minus the bees). There are plenty of outlets, a microwave, a fridge and best of all two toilets, so no one will have to be exposed to the weather which probably will be in the low 60's and even if we don't get showers, it will be windy. This way, people with health problems can be warm and dry. DH is going to move some tables in there and I'll get some chairs moved over there too. Plenty of room in there even for all the plunder that Heather is bringing. : - )
DH also still plans on giving hay rides between the showers for the brave and warm folks. LOL! : - )
So don't worry about anything except for not spilling them meatballs on the way here. They are really tasty! Yum!
Still worried about the coffee. I really do suck at making it. I used to make Mom coffee every morning before I left for school, but she drank instant coffee. It's kind of hard to screw that up. : - )
Anyone willing to take on the coffee? I do have the pot to brew it in. : - )
Okay, still digging up plants to share. : - )
Best get back to work while the sun is shining and it's warm.

Weegy - I hear you are concerned about people not signing up for food, at least not indicating what they are bringing. I found my head empty of ideas then saw something on Rachel Ray, and east Indian dish. However, SW suggested maybe chili. I think that is a better idea, goes with her cornbread, is more familiar to everyone (won's make it too hot) and might go better with the day's weather prediction (who could guess mid April might be cool and breezy). So, that being said, put me down for a crock pot of chili.

Round Rock, TX(Zone 8b)

Do we need more food? I'm happy to bring something else. ^_^

Heather

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

No Linda, not concerned at all, just wanted to make sure people saw the food thread. We always have plenty of food but it's even better when everyone pitches in.
Chili sounds yummy! I'll put you down, thanks my friend!

Norwalk, CA

Sorry I've been lax about deciding, but I've been working a lot, and didn't want to commit to something I might not have time to do.

If I don't have to work on Friday, I'll bring deviled eggs. If I do, I'll be picking up something from the store - not sure what, but I'll check in that day to see if there is a specific request or something that is needed.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

No apologies necessary, really...I just wanted to make sure everyone had seen the food thread. We're going to have a lot of yummy food.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Okay, who is going to make the coffee, If no one volunteers you'll have to drink my coffee which tastes awful, according to what I've heard, so if you are at a loss Please, volunteer to do the coffee!
Thanks,
SW

Round Rock, TX(Zone 8b)

I'm like you SW in that I don't drink coffee either, neither does my DH. I've made instant centuries ago but my DH has never made a cup of coffee in his life! So you can imagine what our coffee would taste like. ^_^

But maybe no one is stepping up because no one else drinks coffee either? Hot cocoa? Now there's a whole different animal! ^_^

Heather

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

I'll have the dedicated hot water pot going too, and already have lots of the packaged hot choc,, tea too.
But I know there are a lot of coffee drinkers out there. Might have to talk DH into starting the coffee. I hear his does taste better than mine, LOL! : - )
He doesn't drink coffee either. LOL! : - )

SingingWolf and I have corresponded and i posted above but my family isn't in the count nor is the food we are bringing so I'm posting again and will Dmail Weegy too.

Ldblond (Lara, Mom, and 3 teens and 2 friends and gardners Michelle and Ron) bringing total of 7
We are making a fruit and veg platter with dips. Michelle told Mom cookies and pie.

No Central, AZ(Zone 7b)

I do drink coffee and make it in our small coffeemaker, but am not familiar with the large ones. Do they use like really big filters? I could wing it as it is one tablespoon of grounds per 'cups' you are making.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I will make the coffee! If my mom comes with me, her and I will drink the whole pot! I'll bring coffee, sugar and creamer.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Here's what we've got so far.

gr8cayte (Heather) Sandwich rolls, hummus and sprouts...and DeJongs chocolate milk

Louise

So looking forward to seeing you! I will be bringing:
Thai Roast Beef Wraps..........cut into a few bites each.
Hope it's good, it's a Rachael Ray recipe

Love ya,
Sylvia

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Thank you Sylvia, same here! Love ya!

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks weegy,
I have the filters for the coffee pot, so no worries. It does hold up to 35 cups. Found it at Smart & Final, and our Christmas tree workers and customers sometimes appreciate a hot drink. : - )
Whew! I was getting worried about it. I really am the worst coffee maker. People have told me so!
They weren't mean about it, but I noticed they started bringing their own coffee over after that. LOL!
Thanks GF's. : - )
Sounds great dillansnana! : - )
Ldblonde, I thought I put you on the "Guest List", but will check again. I do have foggy days where I forget stuff. My bad. : - }

How about coffee, creamer and sugar?

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

weegy,
I have the coffee pots, the filters, stir sticks, and some packets of sugar. No creamer. Can pick up the other stuff at the store today. Got any preference for the coffee? Creamer? I usually get the individual pkgs. for events like this. : - )
Need to check on my tea supply too.
We'll be fine. No problem. DH is going to move the picnic tables and the food tables into the Bee Barn this afternoon. I'll have to set up a table for the food, but that'll be easy. I'll have most everything ready today, so it should be easy on the morrow. : - )
No worries, we're doing fine.
I'm off to wash eggs, should have plenty to share. : - )
Then give the coffee & water pots a good scrubbing, and I'll check back before going to the store.
: - )
Talk to you soon!

Any coffee will do SW. Creamer also. Thanks so much, I would have gotten them for you.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Nah, don't worry about it. I'm just relieved you won't have to drink the mud I call coffee. Thanks for offering to make it, weegy. : - )
I'm going to send DH to the store while ES brings up the tables. I just discovered I'm out of Corn meal anyway. Plus I want to just cook the cornbread in the aluminum pans that come with the plastic tops. Don't worry I'll take off the tops while they cook. Easier for moving and much easier for clean up. : - )
I'll probably cook the cornbread late tonight, or early tomorrow. : - )
Free me up to do other things, right now. : - )
I'm going to have to go outside and tell the kids which plants I need to have moved to the bee barn.
I'm dreading it, it's cold out there. : - (
I think I'll go clean the hummingbird feeders first. : - )
Right after I finish the hot water pot. I hate washing that one because it's so big! Hard for me to lift, especially when it's full of water.
Taking it really slow, but it's all going to work out fine. : - )

If you can't clean it, I'll do it tomorrow SW.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks for the offer sweetie. It was hard yesterday, because the big water pot was half full of water still, but at home I have a system. I stand on the stool, I put the empty pot in the sink and use the hose thing to fill it full of soapy water. I wash the parts and pieces that go inside, rinse them off and set them to drip dry. Then I open the spigot while scrubbing the inside of the pot, and that cleans the spigot out as well as removes the heavy water from the filled pot. Then I flush the pot clean by repeated rinses using the spigot to remove most of the water. Final couple of inches are easy to remove and rinse out by hand. I've got it down to a science. LOL!
Yesterday, just before I went to the Chiropractor, and as the cold weather was coming in I had to lift my hands above my shoulders to get the two pots down from the shelf they usually live on. I should have realized how cold it was gonna get by how much pain I was in last night.
DH is off to the store, Bless his heart. He said that coming in just now from Corona, it went from about 60 degrees down to about 40 here at home. The weather is just so changeable. After we talked about how chilly it could be tomorrow, he said he'd turn on the wax-melter in the Bee Barn so we can all be nice and warm while in there. Do bring a sweater or coat for when you go outside. Even if it is sunny tomorrow, it will still be windy and cold outside.
See ya all here tomorrow about 11:00. Follow the directions to the Bee Barn. I probably won't be able to keep signs up in the windy weather, but your GPS will get you here. If you need help call my DH, Jack, 'cause he gives good directions. : - )
Drive careful, and be safe. : - )

I'm SOOOOO bummed! We are having a work emergency, and I won't be able to make it tomorrow - I get to put out fires at work instead. :-( I hate it when work interrupts fun stuff!

I hope you all have a wonderful time - I can't wait to hear all about it!

Deni

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

It was a wonderful day, and we all had a great time. : - )
I will post photos on the RU link, 'cause I did take photos of people. : - )
But not until tomorrow soonest. I am very tired today. Didn't realize it but I was on my feet for most of the 14 hours I was out yesterday. : - )
Didn't feel it til I sat down at home though. : - )
I thoroughly enjoyed myself and getting to meet people. gr8caytes bowling ball project was a lot of fun, and everyone enjoyed the tour of the bee barn & the hay ride. : - )
No one forgot anything this time either, and weegy even found her favorite sweater she'd left here last year!! Yippee!
I want to thank everyone for helping out like they did. Thanks to QuiltyGirl for tagging everyone with name tags. : - )
Weegy for co-ordinating the food and for the emergency call about DH buying Instant Coffee. Weegy saved the day for all the coffee drinkers. : - )
Thank you weegy! : - )
Thanks to Samigal for showing up early and helping with the set-up! : - )
Thank you to Heather aka gr8cayte, for bringing the bowling balls and crafting materials. Not to mention half of your yard. : - )
We're gonna miss you on the CA forum, but we know you'll have some good DG'er's to hang out with in Texas.
We took a minute, to remember our friends who weren't able to attend, Donna, Kathleen, Sherry, Sharon, Marie, Jo, Rodica, you were really missed.
I also wanted to thank everyone who was able to attend for bringing all the great food. Yummies! : - )
Mostly, I want to thank my summer kid, Jake for his help in preparing for the RU, and my DH, for being a good sport, for setting up the picnic & food tables, and being an helpful and good host during the RU. Should also thank my ES for bringing the tables up and washing them clean. They do get dirty outside.
All in all it was a good day. Mostly sunny, but cold in the middle of the day, with the clouds and wind coming in by late afternoon.
Thanks to everyone who attended for making it such an enjoyable RU. : - )

Well I missed your guys also. We had clouds move, temperatures dropped 20 degrees and then it started snowing. I just started laughing. Spring in the desert. Still LOL....Sharon.
