CLOSED: Corkscrew Willow starts

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I will be trimming my corkscrew willow soon and will be glad to send some for trades or postage. They are excellent for willow water. Even better than Weeping Willows because they are higher in the hormones. They are fast growing trees but you can cut them with rose pruners and keep them at hedge height. You can also twist the young limbs into all sorts of shapes.

Easy to root by sticking them in water and in less than 2 weeks you have a huge root system. I will cut them soon and will ship without roots but guarentee they will root easily.

I would like, when temps warm:
dahlia tubers, sedums, or open to suggestions. Will do postage as well.

Kathy,

I'd be interested in these. I don't know what I have to trade or will have to trade. I sold most everything a few months ago. The greenhouse is going back up as soon as the weather allows and I'll have tons of new stuff. I can send postage if you'd like or can wait to see if you are interested in anything I'm growing.

blue_barn,
If you are in the address exchange I can look it up.

Everyone: I will be shipping priority because they will weigh more that 13 ounces unless you want few and tiny cuttings. Which I can do. IF you want only 1st class and small cuttings or just what 13 ounces gets you then please TELL ME ASAP.

Otherwise - all will go Priority and out today I HOPE. Kathy

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I only want trades for zone 7 since i'm on the border of 6/7. Depends on what day you ask as to what zone I think I'm in....crazy weather. We had snow on the ground for 2 months but only 5 or 6 inches. Just freezing cold. The past 2 weeks have been in the 50s- high 60s. My grass is so green.

Any trades that you may have would have to fit my zone. No houseplants unless someone has "Crown Of Thorns" or some really cool inside cacti.

Kathy

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Kathy,

I'll be happy with as much or as little as you want to send.

Thanks again,
Michele

Anything in particular other than whats listed, have perenns or seed, don't have a list put up yet, would like to try to get one established, or will pay. thankyou. Kathy.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Kathy, your trade should arrive today in the mail ... at least I hope so. ^_^

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Cville - got the box today - all healthy and green.

Everyone - I feel overwhelmed with these darn cuttings! LOL I have bunches cut and trying to find appropriate boxes is a pain in the butt. I have communicated with several on dmail verses on the thread. The cuttings will come without special wrapping such as water pellets or such because these guys will grow on air!! LOL

I have some that fit into boxes that are 6-10 inches long, others will be 12-15 etc and one member wanted the tube box cuttings. With that said, your cuttings will grow like crazy. They may be 10 inches but by the end of summer your TREE will be 2 -3 feet tall. Trust me!

I'm closing the thread until I have more time and not feel stressed to send everyone 3 ft. cuttings. Everyone above this post will get their cuttings for postage and I hope (yet again) to get them out by Monday. I'm packing up some now.

Last year I cut down one of 3 trees in a row. Just grew to much to fast. One log was left in the yard while the rest of the tree was put in the compost pile. 2 months later I found the log and it had long, green stems of new growth when it was touching NOTHING. I'm telling ya, it grows from air! so when your cuttings arrive please know they just need water and they will surprise you in a few weeks.

Kathy -

NO MORE CUTTINGS TO OFFER AT THIS TIME AFTER THIS POST

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Thank you for all of your work Kathy. I'm sorry it's a PITA to wrap and ship all these. I promise to send you something nice real soon. I'm already stocking up. :) Greenhouse is just about finished too!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes, thanks for your efforts, Kathy. I agree that the mailing part can be a real hassle at times.

Harrison Valley, PA(Zone 5a)

Thank you also Kathy! This was nice of you to offer these....PLUS I got to get in on this one!!!! :)

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

9101150134711622901369 Michele Meyer

Yeah, it's hard to fit these puppies into boxes with all the new growth sprouting out - wait until your boxes arrive. You'll have some green leaf I'm sure.

I never expected to have such a request for them. I have lots of dmails that are not on this thread. I also listed some on ebay and quickly put a halt to that....$7 for 10 cuttings that are 15-18 inches long and I had 4 sales right off with $8.00 shipping.

If your starts don't work for you or you really want more just dmail me but I don't be getting more cut for several weeks. I need to plan for my roses and clematis that are due in a week.

Thanks guys!
kathy
