I've been looking at all the beautiful blossoms from points south of me, especially Cem's daffodils. Mine are just beginning now. This one is Ice Follies with the picture taken just after sunset. These bulbs have been in this spot for at least ten years. They were under a tree, and the tree roots had nearly overgrown them. Then last year, I had the tree cut down. Now it is a flower bed.
Blooms 2011
Nice picture of George irisluvr. Love the purple, it's popping. Cibarius, I also have Ice Folliess, got a few clumps of them in my garden. I LOVE Ice King, the double version of Ice Follies. Keep the pictures coming. I love seeing what everyone's planted and gives me great ideas for bulbs I haven't tried. Annette
Cibarius your picture is like a post card, just beautiful. You can see the subtle difference between those blooms.
Cibarius ~ How do you tell them all apart? Do you label them? Or are you just smart?
The garden is just exploding with blooms. The tulips are much taller this year than last. Here's Sancere with blue muscari. La Courtine is the smaller tulip behind, that's a single late tulip that hasn't opened yet. When Sancere's done, La Courtine should be making its debut. Narcisssus Tahiti isn't open on the slope but is open to the left of this area. See next picture.

I like those pink impression tulips!
Pink Impression, and a NOID daffodil that looks like Pineapple Prince. I didn't order this daffodil, I suspect it was sent in error mixed in with my other daffodils. I planted so many last fall, I can't remember what daffodil is in this bed. LOL :o)))) I'm not complaining, I like the boo boo daff. Hope it multiplies well.
Superb Annette. Everything must look great going for a leisurely walk around the lawn. Makes me want to sit down in the middle of it all and soak it all in.
Thanks Jon. I wish I had the time to enjoy the blooms. Yesterday was the first day I was able to get home early enough to take pictures while we still had some daylight. Snapped the Bloomsday mix tulip this evening just before the sunset. They're all just about to open. Annette

Hopefully you find a bit of daylight free time, even if its just a few minutes. You could always cut a few and put them in a vase inside the house.
Great idea. I never cut them. I'll bring some in tomorrow, when I get home from my conference.
Responding to evelyn from March 17,
I have to keep track of bulb identities with plastic labels and notes. But some of them, like Ice Follies, are so distinctive that you learn to know them by sight. Here's a picture of a beautiful bicolor daffodil from my yard. I've had it growing for years but I don't know what its name is. Maybe someone recognizes it.
This is Apricot Whirl and what should have been the same in the front, however, I was sent the wrong bulb. It looks like more Delnashaugh. The only problem is that it's tall than the AW and was planted in front of it, believing that I was expanding the area with AW. Should I complain to Bulbs.com that made the mistake? I do so like Delnashaugh that I planted for the first time last Fall. It's a pretty double bloom white and a peachy orange.
Very nice pictures. Please keep posting.
Thanks for the inspirations.
