YAY.... A new bird today!!!
The bird on the left is the new one, a female American Wigeon. Still trying to ID the one on the right.
Daily Bird Pics, Vol 382
Congratulation Nanny. Love the pic with the Red-bellied WP.
Teddy, so great to hear, your new feeder is being used by the woodpecker. I'm sure the Chickadee will soon find it. it doesn't usually take very long, before they do.
Linth so nice to see all the nice variety you get. Thanks for your comment on the Bunting and Redpoll and that goes for everyone else who did too.
A female Hairy Woodpecker.
When should I get the no-melt suet cakes? Is it still cold enough that the other won't go bad? Since the snow is mostly gone, there are not many birds around now.
When it gets around 80 and above.
Cute one burn!
Congrats nanny!
FYI Alert!!
I have been hearing Sandhill Cranes the last couple of days and just spotted a group flying over!
last shot...I count 7 different species here,
Gadwall
American Wigeon
American Coot
Redhead Duck
Canvasback Duck
Mallard
Double-crested Cormorant
also seen Bufflehead's, Ruddy Duck's, Ring-necked Duck's, Green-winged Teal, Northern Pintail's, Hooded Merganser's, Common Merganser's and Lesser Scaup's. Cold and rainy next couple of days...next trip will be Wednesday and hopefully no wind...lol
Fantastic group shot Burd!!
Margaret, your Galah is beautiful!
Cold and raining here right now. So won't be going out today to look for birds.
I have not had birds to take pictures of, since the snow melted and its warmed up, they seem to have vanished. The Chickadees and Nuthatches have been around but so far not touched the new feeder. I took a walk yesterday and did not see any shots worth taking, I guess they have all left me. Gonna keep watching though.
Any advice on how to coax wp to the suet feeder? It is spitting snow here, one web page I went to said that you could put a bit of suet on top of the feeder to coax them.
Garry, great Bald Eagle Shot. Love your Galah Margaret, Duc and Burd, wonderful shots!!! Love those various Swans, and the Finch variant is lovely!
I agree, great shots guys!
Duc, Love that Northern Flicker and Junco.
Yea!!! Hoary Redpoll ! Wonderful pics burn!
Beautiful shots duc...loving the flicker!
