Nice flock of Snow Buntings - they all look to be adults to me. Around here when I see them, there's usually more juveniles. Probably because the adults are better experienced at wintering in cold places, the young ones travel further to find milder places.

MRW, Sweet pic of the Goldfinch!

Adel, Good to see you posting! Love the variety of birds you have at the end of the last thread.

Lakeview, OH

This lucky lady got the piece of peanut that was left in the feeder, I have got to refill that tomorrow. Don't think I will refill it all the way because of the weather warming up.

Wow! Amazing shots of the Harrier, Burd. Love the Snow Buntings at the start of this thread.

Very nice shots Burd! Love seeing the Harrier and American Tree Sparrow.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Adel, great photos on the last thread. I'd love to see that Fox Sparrow here and I'm still waiting for our Stellar's to arrive here.

Burn, thanks for the new start. I love the Snow Buntings and that Redpoll is beautiful.

Teddy, I'd fill that feeder until you see the birds have stopped feeding.

Burd, the swans are gorgeous and your Harrier shots are awesome. That little sparrow sure looks pretty all fluffed up. Nice job on all of them.

Our Bald Eagles seem to love the rain and wind. Here's an older one taking shelter in some lower branches.

This one was farther away but wasn't bothering all the robins and cedar waxwings that were enjoying all the berries in the trees.

One of a couple hundred robins that have been here.

I had a hard time keeping up with all the Cedar Waxwings eating in the rain.

It's hard to believe these birds swallow these berries in one gulp.

The rain slowed from a downpour to just steady flow and the waxwings seemed to enjoy their showers after filling up on the berries.

Lovely pictures, all. Bald Eagles always give me goose bumps -- what magnificent birds. And the Snow Buntings are adorable. The pictures here really brighten my day.

My neighbor and I are trying to figure out how we are going to close all sides of the suet cage except the top where I put in the cake. He has some pieces of wood, and he said he would help me. I can't afford to buy a upside down suet feeder, they are NOT cheap, so when and if we get it done I will take a picture and post it here.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Teddy, good luck. shouldn't be too difficult to fashion an upside down feeder.

I have a bunch of American goldfinch right now! I counted 18 this morning. Nothing like Rose's 200… but still a good number for me.

Wonderful pics duc! Love seeing the Waxwings eating the berries whole.

That is a good number Mrs Ed!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

The Mute Swan is beautiful, great job on the shots Burd, and love the Harrier shots as well.
Duc , those Eagles and Waxwings do seem to love their showers. Birds and berries make lovely pictures.
Teddy, nice of your neighbor to help out with the upside down feeder. Show us a picture when your done.
Good to know the Goldfinches are returning for you. If they got to your place, that means another week or so for me.
Thanks for your comments everyone.

Here it is, I did not know he was doing it today, hopefully it will not scare off any wp, my hubby says it might scare off some of them, what do you think.

Hi Teddy, They will get used to it given some time.

Nice shots burn!

Lakeview, OH

I think it looks pretty, I hope they will find it, it will be a relief not to have to worry about squirrels anymore on the suet feeder.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

My gosh Mrs Ed...did you go steal some of Rose's!! lol

Our yard has been bare this week. I don't know where they all went! I bought some tree nuts at WBU today. Hope they help draw some in for the bird count this weekend!

I need to unload the camera but until I do...another of the female Pileated Woodpecker! lol

Teddy, well done. It won't stop the woodpeckers, I'm sure.

Lakeview, OH

Nobody has found it yet, the Downy was curious, do you think it would help if I put some seeds under it to draw their attention to it?

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Nah, I think they'll find it. have patience

As I get older that is one virtue that wears thin sometimes.
