I see some daylily growth in my garden, peaking out of the snow!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I saw some here too until the last 10 inches covered everything.
The deer are eating the tips as soon as they appear.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Wanting some green here. Rain today is melting more snow. Woohoo! I have to get out and see if my witch hazels are blooming. I'm sure they are. I saw a yellow one in bloom in a neighboring town yesterday.

Nothing is blooming here.....this snow will never melt!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I went to check on my witch hazels. Had to trudge through 2' of snow to get out there. I should have put on snow shoes, as I kept sinking down. Anyhow, the species one is blooming away, but my Diane has so few blooms it's pathetic. Very disappointed. Last year it was loaded. Don't know what happened this year.

Thanks to Pixie, here's the Blue Mystique orchid we saw in Maine at Longfellow's Greenhouse last week.

Oh Thank you Pirl...these were just amazing to look at. They just didn't seem real, yet they were.

Naugatuck, CT(Zone 5a)

Stunning!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

One more for you. They were beautiful but also struck me as too unnatural and since the color will only last through three bloom cycles I feel it must be artificially induced.

Yes, but it's the magic it creates as the elusive blue flower......

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Yes, magical and mysterious...like the Black Dahlia.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh, that ended bad....lets not go there.

Robin for common, but pretty TB pink irises, look for Beverly Sills. Vanity, its parent is pink as well but has dreadful foliage.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Jo, maybe deer or bunnies did eat the blooms on the witch hazel, but if they did, then they didn't leave any nibble marks that I could see.

Wow, that blue orchid is amazing!

Jealous of your blooms, Jen.

Karen : I was just jumping in with nonsense.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks, Iris......I will look for Beverly!
