Inappropriate ads

I sent this to the "contact us" link last night but I guess it must have gotten lost so I'm putting it here.
I find putting ads on for Muslim dating servises, Muslim singles, Muslim religious studies ect on a garden site are very inappropriate. Is it just me that thinks so??

It's out of place. I'm sure the Admin's will delete it.

I just copied this link from the Brug forum for this Islam ad that is a dating service etc for Muslims.
To say I'm very surprised that it hasn't been removed is an understatement. It surely doesn't belong on a gardening site. This sure isn't the same DG that used to be.

I just sent another message to the Administrators so hopefully the ads will be gone soon.

We'll get this handled right away, but it will have to wait until the west coast gets in the office.

Well, the West Coast has been in the office for some hours now, and the ad is still up. If this is the way things are handled now, DG ain't what it used to be.

We're working on it, but these were included in a group of other advertisements and they have to isolate them.

Hi all, we have dating and religious ads blocked. However, this one seemed to have slipped through, sorry about that. We do our best to block these types of ads because they are inappropriate.

I'm not seeing this advertisement anymore. Are you all still seeing it?

Both of the links shown above are still on DG.

Can you please let me know the pages these ads are shown?

if you click on the links supplied above, the ads are all still there.

I can't - I have the ads turned off so didn't see the originals. I was just going by the above links.

However, I did do an "Advanced Search" on Google (http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=%22forum+islam%22&hl=en&rlz=1R2GGIE_en&site=webhp&prmd=ivns) which returned zero results. So I wonder why the above links still work?

Oh okay! No worries!

Well - we've verified with Google that our settings to block religious and dating ads are in effect. We've also gone in and blocked a few ads that have slipped through. I'm going to check back again in a bit to see if the religious and dating ads that display on the page linked to above are removed - as it does take some time for this to happen once we block them.

While you can still access the page of "Forum Islam" advertisements from the above links, this page should not be linked to from anywhere else on DG, except in this thread.

Okay, I've checked those links above and all religious and dating ads have been successfully blocked. Thanks for letting us know about this, please continue to do so.

Somewhere in the world, there's probably some websites where those ads are appropriate. Just not a good fit for a gardening website :-) I'm glad we were able to get them blocked - thanks Talia!

I see the links to be active. They take me to the intended Islamic links.

They do a great job and with a little help will take care of this.

A link to the page where you saw the ads is very helpful.

I didn't realize the links would still be active after all this time so I just edited them from my posts.I don't know if that was helpful or not because I'm not sure why the links would still go to the site if it's been removed.

Are you sure that what you were viewing wasn't a cached page from previous visits? All I saw when I went to the link snowhermit first posted after Aguane reported them to still be active was just the words 'Forum Islam' but nothing else, no additional links to another site.

Good point Sue, could just be cached data. Without a link to check, it's difficult to verify if there is any real substance in this trouble report. Could be much ado about an old issue that has since been resolved. Thanks for the input.
