It seems even the good hubbies are stinkers at times. And wives--
maybe.
LOL
Good luck to both of you on tests and treatments.
Oh the coffee! Its like- at least I know what to do at this time of day, if not for the rest of the day. Wake up, make and drink the coffee!

Chris, they find it easier to ask. I'd tell her she needs to find the answer on her own in case you aren't there to help.
I've found men don't hear us unless we say their name first.
I hear a lot of people talk about Netflix. It's tempting, but we don't watch that much TV anymore.
No word on my test results yet. They usually mail them to me withut a phone call and I'm fine with that. I'm anxious to see if my cholesterol stayed down.
Holly, LOL!! Blood test, good one :o)
Can't wait to see pictures of everyone's beds this year! I too hope to get expanding and separating of mid sized iris done! Plan on planting all Spring? LOL!
Sallyg, oh, I know I'm a stinker!
ROTFL&L!!! I went thru the catalogs I didn't order from last year and want to continue to get. Then I wrote down shipping charges. I started with the best deal and made my first order. Then, the next cheapest, and found I could get the same two choices from it, and order them from the first, thus coming in just under the wire on the charges for both.
And you think you're cheap, LOL!
Chickens, ROTFL!!
We have the boys this weekend, leaving in an hour to retrieve one from the school since he can't join Mom and oldest GS on the class trip. She'll drop oldest off later.
I think I'll mix up bread today and let them pound on it. They haven't made bread yet :o)
Have a wonderful weekend all!!
My chemo treatment went well yesterday. but at 1:00 am I woke up in pain in the liver region. We drove to the emergency room and they gave me an IV for pain and took some x-rays, the Doctor thinks it is from the stage of the cancer and not from the chemo. It was a matter of time till the pain from the liver caught up to me. I have pain Rx at home and he gave me another prescription just in case.
With me on so many meds and just getting the chemo I did not want to take a chance on it being something else so a trip to the ER put my mind at ease. The pain also radiated into the back and I was a bit worried about a heart attack.
They did not want to keep me in the hospital because of picking up something else as I am at risk anyways.
It is snowing today and the plows are out, I have the movie Grown-ups to watch if I can stay awake. And took next week off from work. It is me time agian.
Lady--
"ME time" is very therapeutic.....In this busy World--few of us take "ME time'...
ME included.....I always feel that there is something I MUST be doing--relaxing is not it...
Maybe that is why I like to sit, watch TV and do some pleasurable task--like sorting
seeds (3 days in a row), dicing meat or veggies for something I will cook--my
favorite pastime--the dicing, that is. It is such calm work....
Sorry you have to go through all these issues, lady. If you are still on the "other" site--
I am sure many people there are pulling for you.
Stay safe ans don't overdo. Store up some energies for when spring comes....
Hugs, Gita
....Think Spring.........
Chris, I didn't realize you were to start yesterday. It's good to hear you say it went well. I'm imagining a battle in your liver, with cancer cells losing by a mile.
I heard good comments about that movie, very funny. Hope you enjoy it between naps as needed.
Hugs- I personally can't think of many more people who deserve some ME time than you. Because we love you!
Dang it! I'm sorry, that's sure not the smooth start to this treatment that we were hoping for. Good news at least that it's not your heart and not due to the chemo... and hopefully the chemo will knock those liver tumors right out!
*gentle hugs* and prayers for a restful week.
best wishes to you Chris... hope you feel better today
Gita, I was like you always busy, could never just sit. Always laundry to fold, weeds to pull or something to be figured out at the work place. I felt guilty just sitting. Getting ill like this really changes one's way of thinking.
I visit the other site a lot, In fact Jill, Critter- Candee, haugar(spl?),- and I are working on a Breast Cancer Support site that we plan to launch Feb 1st.
I'll post a link here when it is up and running for any of you that are interested inviting. But I alway make DG my first stop when I get to my computer. This group in MA is my home and extended family.
Love you all!
(The best laid plans of mice & men... all is well, but new launch date is Feb. 9. Nine is my lucky number, so I think this will work out for the best!)
Chris, you've been in my heart today.
Chris, good news from bad. I'm glad you know the cause of the pain and can relax over it. It seems like the predictions were true about the liver. At least it was something that you could expect. I'm real glad you could be sent home!!
Yep, me time. Especially if it's going to snow. Perfect staying in weather! Enjoy the movie too!
Gita, it took me two days to go thru the seeds I have saved :o) I still need to finalize my orders and get them sent in, but that will be after the boys go home today.
I like cutting up vegetables too. It is calming.
I love those! I was always going to order them, but reading that they really spread, I haven't. Not till I have a place for them to go. They are so pretty tho!!
Chris, make that three that has to be up doing. I get up before my brain knows I'm going to.
I love you all too! Everyone has so much personality, and speak from the heart :o) It's never an unhappy place to stop by.
Beware the snow monster.... or giggle with a Teletubby. Maybe I shold explain his belly button :o) Next photo.
Feeling better today, back to the prechemo feeling. It was a bit scary but glad I went to rule out anything really serious. Now just keeping fingers crossed that this chemo works and I'll have a better summer then last. But one day at a time.
The sun is shining today, I always feel better when it does.
Jill, we will launch when you think everything is in place. It is something to look forward to and I am hoping it will be a good source and a place of comfort and healing for others.
Billy what a work of art ! I loved building snow things with my daughter when she was little. I don't see very many parents doing that with their kids like it use to be. Have you introduced your grandkids to snow angles, that was always fun.
Paul use to go out a build snow forts and have snowball fights when she got a bit older. I stayed inside, it got pretty intense. LOL
Chris you totally deserve "ME" time!!!
Love the snowman, Billy
Chris, laughing. I forgot there is a partial snow angel on the camera! DGS thought he needed snowpants to make one so he didn't want to do it.
I'm glad you are feeling better. I do think this summer will be different! I haven't seen much sun here in a couple of weeks either. It's been cloudy since I bought the camera and we're in for a three more days of snow and storm! I too love the sun!
Laughing again, oldest GS came in because he doesn't care for snowfights, especially the snow in the face! I love that your daughter had a great time! I can almost see the fight. What a great Daddy!! I'm like you, I'll stay in too, with the hot cocoa, LOL!
It's quiet this morning without the boys. We played games and dinosaurs all afternoon yesterday. I also made a play-doh out of water, glue and Borax, well, I let them mix it up two weeks ago. It still had too much water in it so DH added flour. It worked. It's softer and still stretches if you hold it in the air. It melts into itself if you try to make a snowman, but they sure like playing with it.
Major snow heading our way so I need to get all outdoor chores done early and anything involving electricity done up too. I doubt we lose power, I hope we don't, but I will be prepared!!
Have a good day all!
billyp- boys will be boys! what a hoot about the non bellybutton
Our DSL went down Friday night and just got back on line.
Chris so sorry to hear about the ER visit. Not fun being in pain especially when you aren't sure why. Hope the rest of your treatment is uneventful.
LOL Billy what fun Grandchildren are. JR had his Boyscouts Pinewood Derby last Sat morning. We had a good time and his friend a new member to the troop won. Both boys were pretty excited. Talk about Snowman Josh built one down by the rivers edge. There is a hill so he rolled the balls down the hill to the river. I swear the bottom ball was close to 4ft tall the whole thing must have been 8ft. With 3mile island in the background it looks like a mutant snowman coming from the Nuclear Plant. LOL
Hmmmm--Well--that didn't work!
I have a picture in my Documents--but i cannot transfer it over Sorry!
It was fun!
One of my newspaper customers made it last week. Today was first day I could get a pic to share with LadyG ! Hope you enjoy it Chris.. I'm rooting for you. Judy
HEE HEE, love the snowman
Oh Holly, ROTFL!!! I can be so dense sometimes. Your ''Dear Sister L'' went down? Took me a minute to get it!
Awww, how exciting to go to the races! I can't wait for these guys to get into the scouts.
ROTFL!! over the snowman. I hope you get a picture!
Hi Coleup, I'm actually jealous! She looks great, LOL!
Aww Gita, I hope you can figure out the problem with the picture.
The snow started around11:00 am, but it's mostly flurries and the wind. I never stepped out yet and likely won't!
Eek! I spoke too soon. The mail just came. Since DH had already been out doing, gulp, it's my turn. Well it's not bad out, but the snow in the face isn't great :o) There wasn't anything for me :o(
LOL
We are drifted in. Can't get out either garage. 5' drifting across the main garage and thru the yard. We will be digging out by hand today.
LOL Jen, Our power keeps going off and on.Wonder if it is too early to get out that bottle I picked up at the Liquor Store.
hee hee
wow 5' drifts...crazy!!!
I was talking to my sis yesterday in CO, they had -31° windchill with -19° air temp everyone was told to stay indoors. She's lived there 14yrs and never had temps that low
Jen--
Even though we escaped all the snow from the monster snow here in MD--
right now, the winds are a-howling...Nasty winds! Getting very cold too....
Weird--as today was close to 50*. Rained a lot last night, but did not wash away too much
of the snow on the ground...Kind of rinsed off all our cars though....
My windows are rattling from the winds as I write this---I do not have "NEW" windows....
just what came with the house in 1968.
Wish I had the $$$ to put in new windows ansd a new kitchen and floor.....and cabinets...
Oh, well.....My home is quite livable the way it is.....as it is only ME here.....
Gita
Lady, Hope you are not totally snowed in and if you are, the power stays on...I"m sure you have supplies on hand. Praying all of us weather the storms that come to our lives. Thinking of you today.
Hi, everyone, I was feeling bad the last few days, haven't been online for anything. I guess the body just needed to get past the dosing, or the Neulasta is kicking in. I have been a couch potato and TV watching. not what I am use to but something that I must.
The winter is still being kind up here, we had very little ice and snow. For once the Lakes seem not to be the big weather maker as in the past.
Billy, I was ambushed once coming out side to empty the garbage. I never thought my own family would wallop me with snow balls, DD thought it was the greatest thing to get mom.
Judy, that snow lady really cracks me up. She really looks like she is having a good time.
Gita, I know where you are coming from about the old house and windows. Our curtains use move when the wind got nasty, and the walls to the outside were so cold.
Glad you feel well enough to post again Ladyg. Hope you got a good much needed rest.
Holly I had to put my laptop as high priority today. DD called last night said she had narrowed down a cabin to rent in Aug. in the Smoky Mountains at Pigeon Forge as we planning on going she wanted me to see what I though and sent me a link. Something to look forward to. I may not feel up to going to Dollywood, or shopping at Gatlinburg, but spending time together with them and their friends will be good and just getting away. I guess the view is going to be great.
Oh I can just see you now on a big porch taking in the beautiful peaceful mountains.
I've only got a minute, DD is having Twins! One of each!
Chris--(hug) We went to Smokies summer before last and i LOVED IT. Gatlinburg is crazy packed touristy town and I would only try limited doses if at all. The last stretch going into Gatlinburg is crazy like a mountain version of boardwalk ocean highway commercial crap. But if you can get to a cabin, you'll love just that!!!. There are drives of Smokies you could check out for riding around, and see what easy overlooks to get to. I'll look up a great resource I used to pick a trail to hike.
billy ---WAAAAHHH!!! You're gonna be BUSY! How exciting! Hey, you won't have to paint their toenails to tell them apart -snicker- your other grandson already has a great tip for you on seeing which is the boy and which is the girl --snicker--
Congrats Billy
Went to Gatlinburg when I was in 3rd grade or so, but remember the view from the hotel was AWESOME
I wrote this on another thread=="Traffic from the main highway down to Gatlinburg was horrible. We stopped in a mexican style restaurant , El Paso, next to a Staples in a strip center before Pigeon Forge and liked it very much. Also liked our hotel, A 'Hilton family ' one on River Road near the south end. As a lifelong East Coaster who is used to beaches, this whole area from Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and into Gatb'g was like a coastal beach tourist strip. Tons of people on the street.
We loved our hike in the Smokies Park and didn't find it overly crowded even on a late July Saturday. Not one piece of discarded trash anywhere. The Visitor Center and park in general was very busy.
We had a 3 pm meal on Saturday at the Smoky Mountain Brewery in Gatb'g--located inside a small complex of shops and a sister restaurant. While in the complex you can a park free as long as you have made some kind of purchase before you leave, food included. That was the best way to enjoy that popular place. I doubt we could have gotten a table on Friday evening. '
Here's as great resource I used to find just the right trail. You can spend time browing the maps and getting some idea what the place is like. And look for easy trails or accessible ones which would by definition be easy too.

Sally, Paul and I had a cabin stay quite a few years ago. and Gatlinburg was crazy then too. We discovered that we could do a "Park and Ride" the trolley ran on a regular basis and had I think 3 drop off spots. Made driving easy. We also hiked a trail which I enjoyed very much but can't see me doing that now. I do remember we had to pull to the side of the road to let the breaks on the car cool down as we descended the mountain.
The place we are staying has all the goodies, hot tub, game room, that is well stocked, DVD's puzzles, wireless Internet , yes I'll bring my lap top, enough to keep me busy if I can't get around and do a lot of things, time will tell on that.
DD mentioned going to a comady club one evening, Family country humor, her rent a son will be coming too, he is I think 12 now. and still at an age where he enjoys being with adults, and the guys get down to his level and have fun too.
I,m going to check out that link, thanks.
