Hanging in there Part 6
So got hit with only about 6", they got harder hit farther north. They had already canceled school last night about 2hrs after it started snowing.
Chris, sometimes delays work out for the best. I love sitting at a puzzle for days; It's an all consuming, very important thing I have to do, and I'm working against myself to get it done. It is fun! I hope you find your border. I can almost see the illusive shape you need.
Anne, sounds like the school was better safe than sorry.
Holly, Ric had fun and you got a meal :o) Get well!
Chris, it would be pretty cool to watch the snow from below!
FlowAjen, wow on the snow flake. I've never seen those either. I love the cupcake description! Thanks for the rare find!
Chris, I couldn't wait to see your new picture! I love the face-on laugh! You get more positive each 200 or so postings, LOL!
FlowAjen, I don't think anything got cancelled here. Since I have no kids, I don't pay much attention.
We got about 2'' - 3'' of snow. It's nice, but nothing special. Most of it came straight down. I sorted a few seeds for a former DG'er and need to mail them out tomorrow. It's too soon to start any of my own. Altho....it might be a good time to try a few columbine and such on the porch. I have nothing to lose.
Tomorrow we get groceries and I hope to look at cameras. I need a good extended zoom.
Friday, we get the boys and will keep them till Saturday afternoon. Tuesday, we have them again. Life is picking up again. DD, is at 15 weeks and can't button her pants already. Either it's because it's her third, or it will be another big baby. No sexing yet.
I need to get on the treadmill and into the tub. Later, I need to check the grocery list.
Have a good day all!

I noticed this, too!
This was taken at the office, this is one of the reasons I keep going to work. They are always good for a laugh. it is good therapy.
Snow picture for the day. I don't think it stopped all day.
Still working on the puzzle, have to take the break when the eyes begin to cross. LOL
Also sent my order to Park Seeds today.
Jen---
Yesterday, driving to work, I was listening to the weather forecast.
The meteriologist was saying that it IS snowing--but all the snow was still "up there"
and NOT falling because it was too dry. It needed to get more moisture in it to fall.
Perhaps that is what your odd snow-flakes are----dry above--gained some moisture
falling and now look like a beautiful star....
Just my 2 cents....G.
Chris, I imagine sometimes you laugh with the clients, and sometimes AT them, LOL
You got that right, sometimes I go in the dark room and band my head against the wall too.
I remember one elderly patient telling Doc she broke a tooth eating "milk Toast". ????
I ordered a basic cookbook for one of our hygienist's birthday and sure enough there was a recipe for "milk Toast" in it. I put a bookmark in the page before wrapping it.
Here is my seed order from Park

Lady--
It has been Eons that i have dome a Jig-saw Puzzle!
When would i find the time????? Too many other things I would be doing in that time.
You know--doing puzzles is such great exercise for your brain! Visually finding shapes that fit.
Lots of neurons at work there.....
I like to Crossword Puzzles at lunch at work. We get an hour....a bit of time left to do so.
On the computer--I, occasionally, play Spider Solitaire. The one with 2 suits.
Have no faith that i can ever get anywhere with the 3 suits version.....
My brain is NOT numbers oriented--so I never do a Soduku. (sp.)
If I cannot comprehend--then I do not do it!

Nice puzzle Ladyg. When I worked for WilliamsSonoma There was always a puzzle set up in the break room different people would work on it during their lunch and break.
I can't sit for a long time doing the puzzle, it is physically uncomfortable. So I have a lot of little things going on in my day, always doing something but for short periods of time. I play short games on my computer also. Scramble with a robot, card games, whatever. Sometimes when I walk by the puzzle I stop and find a few pieces that fit and then move on to something else.
Holly, One Cancer Center I visited had a table with a puzzle on it, you could work on it while you were waiting for your appointment. It really helped pass the time.
Yesterday while I was at my computer, a large hawk caught my eye flying into the big spruce tree in the back yard. I got a picture through the window.
Chris, I think work is THE best thing you have, now that I know what it is. I would look forward to every day with them. I hope you can get back to going in more days each week.
Love the snow picture! I have a hard time capturing the snow falling.
Yayyy on the seed order! You got a little of everything!
Milk toast, ROTFL!! Laughing even harder over the bookmarked recipe!! That's a good one!
I love the puzzle! Those are perfect colors to work with. I've done the walk by on puzzles too, I might find a piece thsat fits or I have just enough time to sort and find some to try later.
WOW on the hawk!!
Gita, I think that's a good explanation for the snowflake!
Spider solitare is the only game I play, besides Circle the Cat that Jill posted one day. It's bookmarked, so I forget about it. If I have time, I'll replay a solitare hand till I win. I think points should be given for finally winning!!
I an so NOT number oriented either. I can barely count change.
We ran to town Thursday night. I've been researching cameras with extended zoom. That was to be my Christmas present since Dad gave me money. I settled on a....Canon SX30 with 35x zoom. I got to play with it some that night. I had to download the manual because it's not really a point and shoot like my little Kodak Z650, which truely is a good camera. But it has 10x zoom. Not quite enough.
Then, we got the boys Friday morning and kept them till late Saturday afternoon. DH played with the camera. Sooo, today, I need to play with it.
Also ordered some miniature plants from Bluestone

That will be very pretty and sweet! Just like your daughter.
Jen that will be so much fun doing this with your daughter. What a great way to introduce her to gardening. I absolutely love the Dwarf Lady Fern and Lilliput Astilbe.
FlowAjen, that is so adorable!! It's neat that your daughter wants to make garden. You will really enjoy it too.
Neat minis!
My friend was at a cave and there were tiny ferns growing around outside. A true gardener, she grabbed one and kept it in her purse. She gave me a start and they spread so well, I let them go. I am so kicking myself and have asked her to make one grow for me. (She passed years ago, but if she could, she would.) I look every year, all summer, hoping for just one. They only got about 6'' tall. Oooh, kick!
Lilliput is so cute!! I can't wait for pictures! I agree, you have a sweet daughter
Jen, that will be fun. I seen Kinsman had some great Fairy doors and windows last year but I do not see them on their web site catalog now.
Can't wait to see her Fairy Garden.
I have a bit of a Fairy garden near my pond. One Fairy and some Tinkling Toadstools.
I've driven past Kinsman a few times but hubby never let me stop...wonder why??? hee hee
Well, everyone. I am going back on a different chemo next Friday, need to get my heart checked out first. The plan is every 4 weeks for 6 treatments. Which will take me into summer. I figured this would happen, she was giving me a break and trying a hormone suppressant and seeing if that would work.
I was in the treatment room with another lady that it has gotten into her lung and she sounds like she is worse off then me. Can't even walk up the stairs without getting out of breath. She says she doesn't leave the house much and just gets up to leave her dog out.
When we left this morning 9:00 the secondary roards were snow covered but the interstate was a bit better, and the drive home was better yet. Very cold outside Paul had to put his knit cap on to pump gas. He never wears a hat unless he is out side for a long time. Me, I don't care I have a hat on all the time outside even to go out to the garage.
Oh Chris, So sorry to hear another round of chemo is coming. Just know you are always in our thoughts and prayers.
Chris have you altered your diet at all? I've heard lots of good things about switching what you eat for your metabolic type that helps cancer patients.
Thank you Holly and Jen.
I have been eating more fresh fruit and vegatables then I ever have. Also drinking chocolate milk and low sodium V8 juice. I guess I could look up food that is good for the liver and see what they say. The chemo will present it's own way of eating as some foods might be easier to eat then others. I'll just have to see how my taste might be altered.
Found the site I was thinking of
http://thealkalinediet.org/how-can-alkaline-diets-prevent-cancer
Chris, have another hug. I'm sure you could do without having more chemo.
It's rrrrealy fffffrigid here too.
Lady---
Best to you in the future treatments.....Be strong--we know you are.
You have amazing resiliency and love of life and nature.
Hope this will continue to sustain you......Hang in! I know you can.
Hugs--Gita
FlowAjen and Chris, one thing I've never done yet is a fairy garden. I love them, just haven't found the best place for one yet.
F'Jen, yes, I do wonder why! Good thing it's your Daughter's idea :o)
Chris, I feel so much better about you going back on treatments this time. I've been waiting for you to go too. Seemed like it was a given.
What's summer if you get a lifetime? You have a good prayer foundation so we just need to build you some walls and a roof, LOL! You'll be our little fairy in her castle. Picture that when you're too tired to do anything else.
You and me and the hat!
Dr. Oz says milk thistle tea is exellent for the liver. I was going to try it when my liver test came back a bit out of the limit. That's when we found my thyroid was the culprit.
We have a memorial service this afternoon. SIL lost her son, age 46, to a brain tumor. Photos taken of him this October were the picture of health. That's how fast it took him. He had the few years they gave him. Funny how they are pretty much right on that.
I used to baby sit him and his two younger brothers when she was married to his Dad. They lived, and his Dad still does, in the house I lived in till I was one. I have pictures of the inside from 1957.
((((BIG HUGS)))) Chris, this time it's going to go so much better!
Big smile everyone!
Oh Billy, So sad and so young my thought will be with you this afternoon.
Sorry for your loss.
If you have liver problems I fully recommend doing a liver flush. I have the recipe and directions if you are interested. I need to do 2 more when I get some Fri-Sat free.
Jen, Thank you so much for your concern. The Breast Cancer cells have metastasized to the liver, and making tumors. The liver is still functioning normally. The only thing that will help this is shrinking the tumors and killing the cancer cells that are there.I am going to a very highly rated cancer center for treatment and they are doing everything they can. They do regular blood testing to check out the liver function and kidney function. All are within the normal range.
Billy I am so sorry to hear about that young man. It is so sad that this stuff strikes at such a young age.
I am determined to get through the 6 treatments this time. It always bothers me that I had to stop short on the last chemo, but I don't think I had a choice. I might be doing a lot of frog watching this summer again. But we will see.
Thanks everyone, he was a good kid. Naturally.
He had no kids even tho he was married for quite a few years before the divorce. He created an address stamp and started a company for it. His younger brother and step brother from here went out to live and work for him and he met another pretty lady and married her. He did a lot in the life given to him.
Chris, I'm glad your test come back normal! I have faith in your doctors. Well, you have a nice porch to sit on and even if it isn't your chioce, it's outside where the birds are singing and even the traffic sounds good. If you're up to it, take the laptop out and just look at pictures.
I kind of think you live by "if there's a will, there's a way" It's one of my favorite quotes, but usually not used for something so drastic.

Sallyg. ROTFL!!! I had no idea what to expect! He's cute :o)
I actually laid in bed till 7:00 am yesterday so I wouldn't miss my coffee and breakfast. Fast is the word, for blood tests. Hopefully the cholesterol, thyroid, liver and sodium/potassiom levels are all in good range.
This morning we're running to Sears to look at curtains. Yayyy!
LOL Sally that's a good one.
Yesterday was a bit stressful, I left work early as it was starting to snow and covering the roads. One co-worker kept bothering me with stupid questions that if she just used her brain could have figured it out herself. How do you teach some one to think???
When I got home there were 3 messages on the machine, My MUGA scan location had to be changed, to a location father away, Nurse called saying she was having my Nulasta sent to me so hubby can administer it, and a call saying that they were still working on scheduling my February 2nd treatment.
Then hubby came home and was asking me about my appointments and saying "you didn't tell me that" and I know I did. He just has way to many irons in the fire and only listens to half of what I am telling him.
It was so nice when dinner was over and he fell asleep in the recliner and I called my daughter and chatted with her.
I am looking on the internet for an anti-glare film for my laptop so I can use it outside. I have tried using it in different locations outside but the outside light makes it impossible to see the screen. I enjoy watching Netflix movies on my laptop, both DVD and streaming. so glad I signed up with Netflix and dropped HBO from my cable service. If I use my headphones I can watch my moves on the laptop and hubby can watch what he wants on TV.
Well thanks for letting me spout off, today will be better.
Billy, hope your test results are good.
I know what you mean about fasting. I miss my coffee on those mornings.
Ladyg sounds like a stressful day just too many things at once. Especially things you don't want to think about. I also dropped the movie channels on my Dish package and signed up for Netflix. I just love it. I also watch TV shows on my laptop sometimes when I have conflicting shows.
Billy, Hope you pass your blood test. LOL
Sally ROFLO
Well I paid for my Caladium Blub order this morning. Boy I sure got a lot of them and I put in my HGHA plug order I have a lot of annuals coming, too. I think I might be expanding a few beds this spring.
