I ordered that crater lake from bluestones, but they didn't come back. They're beautiful!
Garden Photos 1 picture per day #86
What a shame....they aren't very long lived. This one lasted about 5 years then vanished!
That Conc dore was taken in 2009. Its fabulous last year but because of the rules here I will have to post the recent version at another time.
or dmail it to me and I'll secretly post it for you
yer on
I was going to mention that it will be much taller and tons of blooms on about the 3rd year. Mine is as tall, if not taller than me!
Ohhh yes.I cant believe its only the 3 rd year last year. I think the bulbs went in 2008.
Mine have been in for about 5 or 6 years now and they are still going strong.
OOOOPS I just found an Aug '08 pic and the d'ores were single stems so they must have been planted 07 this will be year 4.
The stems are thicker than my thumbs.
Looks like they are close to 6ft! LOL
Actually that would be my guess too.
Thanks Deb
sshhh, don't tell Victor

Too bad I can't transmit the wonderful scent. They are heavenly.
Very pretty, pirl. When does it bloom for you?
Last summer, which arrived too fast, it bloomed 8/10. They were just planted in April of 2010.
Thanks. I can use a good late bloomer with fragrance like that.
I'd expect it would bloom in late August in a normal summer.
Probably about a week earlier for me.
We can compare notes this summer.
Jo Ann - do you have the date yours bloomed?
I have photos dated July 10.
You got yours form the same place, Jo?
Lovely, Jen.
Victor ,My Conc'd ore came from Brent and Beckys
How many inches do you put down, Bill, and when? Heard a few weeks ago, on radio, to have all mulch down by the time the forsythias are in bloom to discourage weeds. I've never been able to get it done that fast.
all depends on the weather pirl - usually before memorial day
Wow...some very impressive photos!...Don't know if I have any lilies left in my gardens :(, great blue on the veronica, & really love the echie....thought I was through ordering, & I may be since today I received an oil bill for over $700.00....I guess I should be bugging my son for wood to burn! Anyway, I did have lilies last year.......
i felt your pain last week on that oil bill
LOL...and the second half of taxes are due!
I have a receipt from my original oil company 48 years ago showing 16.9 cents a gallon. Zounds!
The good old days when a buck would give you a quarter of a tank of gas!
No one will mistake us for teenagers, Marilyn!
Bill - how deep is your mulch?
