So pretty GP but I think it is time for them to pack their suitcases and head for the Ozarks!!
Buntings on vacation
yeah...what Rose said!! lol
Won't be long now.
Very nice!
How do you get anything done but watch birds all day. All I can say is wow what color good job.
I always look forward to seeing & hearing the Indigo's every spring!
So pretty GP...I will let you know when they arrive!! Have you ever seen them eating anything besides millet? If I feed millet it attracts too many House Sparrows so I am trying to find an alternative. I have suflower hearts out so I hope they will like them...if not I will have to stalk the farm for them!!
I have the same problem as you Rose. I ended up taking down the caged feeder last year because of all the HOSP.
I did the same thing last year Nanny and didn't get to see the Indigo's in the yard as often! I hope I can come up with a plan B...let me know if you do!
They will eat sunflower heart pieces also, but Millet is their favorite food. The caged feeders are the only way to deter bigger birds.
I had a Rose-breasted Grosbeak get in the darn feeder and I was so afraid it wouldn't get out of it!! It made it but it had to work at it.
I've never had anything but Buntings in my two caged feeders I got from Duncraft. I guess the size of the openings has to be really exact.
Really pretty, GP.
Thank you, Margaret.
Those little birds are so beautiful,I will only get to see them here, thanks for sharing GP. Love the shot through the fence.
They are beautiful! Nice shots GP!
Beautiful, GP. How far north do they go on migration?
We have one in NJ right now.
Glad yours are still around GP!
I read somewhere the ones that leave Florida in the spring most likely head for the Carolina area, etc....but who really knows unless they are banded? In fact, some that I see here may only go as far as North Florida.
Thanks for that, Pelle and GP
Glad to see the Painted Bunting are still hanging around.
having a little nap it looks like!
