WINTER BLAST
Very cute Terri.

three or four inches added last night on top of what we had gotten the first day. This is much better for traction, no ice this time. I managed to clear me a path down double level deck, down the walk and up the shop deck to that door. When the sun came out it finished clearing that so no fear of falling now. Herman got out and went to the store for us and neighbors yesterday before the last round of snow, so we and the animals are set for hibernation this weekend.
We are enjoying watching the birds and squirrels in the backyard and our crazy dogs when we let them out. Stay warm everyone and only go out if necessary.
The funny thing is it will go down in history as a 2.5 inch snow fall because the official records are what DFW registers. I know we got 4" here in SW Fort Worth. That is the same that happens with rain, we get 2-3" and they don't get anything measurable. What's up with that?
I live close to DFW airport, and we only got about 2". Seems to be quite a bit of variation with this storm, as friends of mine in Dallas had over 5". It does seem like they could have a couple of stations set up around the area, and do some sort of averaging or something like that.
I want to go back to work, I am running out of things to clean LOL. I really just want to get out of this house!

Get out the muck boots people, it's getting mushy outside already! 38 balmy degrees here. Watch out for the roof top icicles falling down!!
Where's Ole' Man Winter? I'd like to slap him upside his head!!

He'll be back next week! There's a chance of rain tonight with some kind of system moving through, but north of the DFW Metroplex, there's a chance of snow. Just what everyone needs!
Not supposed to be too bad next week. At least I am hoping it wont be.

Ok....the temps really picked up and streets are pretty much clear now. DH and I went out and supported our local restaurant and wait staff who no doubt suffered without work this last week. Walmart was close by and we noticed the parking lot looked like the weekend before Christmas! With people having eaten until the shelves were bare and Super Bowl parties to plan, they are stocking up no doubt.
So nice to have sunshine and pavement.
Sheila a few of our friends advised us to stay away from our local Costco. lol
It will only be safe there when the Superbowl starts! Saturdays are pretty crazy in general...I could just imagine.
Yep, game time would be a safer bet.
So nice to have sunshine and pavement.
Ditto, if there are any, still too rural here. No sidewalks except for the malls. I saw the cows finally walking around at my neighbors place today; they haven't been outside in a couple of days. Barn fever! I can just see it from an animals point of view.. LOL!!
.... "Getting ready to drop kick this here barn door out today; are you with me Ladies, says the Bull (Not Ferdinand.) ~~ :)

Just got our power on. Wells are working. It'll be nice sleeping warm tonite after two cold ones.
All the signs that normally say, drive safe, buckle up, etc? In Pennsylvania they are flashing GO STEELERS! They love their team, lots of support there, was too dark for pix but the winds were blasting gusts to 50mph and snow showers in places like Somerset, Pa, normal for Somerset...I was in awe of the massive ice in Ill-didnt get to see Ky, In, etc, not that I felt slighted in the least bit. My brother tells me his washing machine froze up, and the electric company kept running out of batteries, but he did see hope today. He is refusing to shop at the Walmart close to the Superbowl, found him a grocery store in Grand Prairie south, chuckl,
The Walmart across from the stadium will be closed tomorrow, and their parking lot will be a money maker for them, people looking for parking everywhere.
The stores at a nearby shopping center are letting people park for free if they buy a $75.00 gift certificate to one of their stores. At least that way the money is not totally wasted.
Kittriana, I was born in South Bend. That 6 degrees is why I've lived in Texas the last 40 years! :-D
Understand that, the 6 was warmer than it had been, but the folks I deal with there are awesome ppl, grin at us southerners, for teeth chatterin, unlike Minnesota that keeps claiming it isnt cold enuff, brrr. I had enuff salt on my truck I just kept dusting it off the windows to see, still crusted on my fuel tanks, but they had freezing rain with the snow too, my delay allowed me to shoot right thru the edge of the storms, and by the way, Welcome to Texas! a bit belated, but there you go.
Don't envy you in the least being a truck driver in this kind of weather. You have a tough go of it in places like Texas I bet when we get this kind of weather. No one knows how to drive and aren't prepared for it. Hope your run in nearing the end and you can spend some down time before long.
Josephine, I heard that the NFL was using the Wal-Mart parking lot as a staging area. I'm sure they're paying Wal-Mart very nicely for that privilege.I have a cousin who lives very close to the stadium. She's not leaving her house today. LOL
I don't blame her, it will be a mess around there. You have to stay as far away as possible.
I wouldnt go anywhere near there either. I do hope they make close to as much money as they had planned on considering this weeks weather. Speaking of weather...its so nice out.

When I got up this morning, there was already traffic problems near the stadium. Ugh!! I also saw where the roof suffered some damage. I'm sure Jerry's not happy about that!
Your plants look good. Hope mine faired that well.
