Can't access DG with windows 98 browser

For the last approx. 2 weeks I have been unable to access DG with my older computer that has the windows 98 browser. There are reasons I have not wanted to change this browser--what has changed with the site? The error message says server busy or unavailable.

I don't know of anything specific that we have changed that would cause you to not be able to use the site...but as with most sites, we can't support older browsers once several new versions have been introduced.

That said, Windows 98 is an operating system, not a browser. Can you tell me what browser you are running? Most of them can be determined by looking for a "help" button somewhere in the browser's menu bar at the top.

Errr...It's version 5.5. If I upgrade, will my peripheral devices still work? Can I go back? I am a little nervous about this. Probably the new ones wont even work with win98?

I am not sure Microsoft supports Windows 98 any longer, regardless of the browser. But I agree with Shoe's recommendation - try the Computer Talk forum for some tips and advice from some peers.

'Tis true, Terry. Windows is now not even supporting my OS, Win2K (dagnabbit). What I'm running into is the newer IE browsers won't work with Win2K, You-tube won't work with the IE browser I have (ver 6), and there is also limited features on some of the web-building software when using Win2K. I can only imagine what a fiasco it is with Win 98.

PassifloraPink, I wonder if the browser FireFox will work with your 98. Be sure to ask about that over there.
