Inappropriate E-Mails: Attention: Terry or Administration

Kerrville, TX(Zone 8a)

This may not be the correct location to write this, but hopefully, Terry, or some member of the administration will read this. I was contacted by a friend who advised me that some inappropriate advertising emails were being sent out under my name and email address. Please be assured that it was not I who sent these emails. The friend sent me the page with the names of receivers of these emails. Dave's Gardening Administration was on the list. I just wanted the Administration to know that my name and email was shown as the sender and was absolutely not sent by me. This was done by either advertisers of an inappropriate product or by a computer nerd who has nothing better to do. What is puzzling is the fact that all my email addresses were not used. I have just changed my email password which is suppose to correct this ridiculous invasion of privacy by them using my email address. And, I am very sorry that this has happened.

Hi flowerette,

Thanks so much for letting us know. It sounds like such a hassle - but I'm glad you were able to get it resolved.

Best,

Carol, do you have a Facebook account? Myself and many of my friends have had our FB accounts "hacked" and spam sent to contacts of the e-mail we used to sigh up for FB.

I change my FB and Yahoo passwords often and that seems to help. FB also has updated their "security" and a lot of my preferences were defaulted to let friends of friends and such see my info. If you're on FB make sure your privacy settings are set to only let you or friends see your info.

Getting hacked is no fun, but thanks for letting us know! I didn't receive one of the messages, but it may have hit a firewall or gone to the spam folder :-)

Yes, I am on FB but rarely visit there. I will definitely make changes frequently, now, on that site and others as well.
Thanks

If you have an Yahoo account it could be the Worm that has been going round and round and round....
according to Yahooo... (when I wrote them back in the summer of 2010) it will go away on it's own.... THANKS YAHOO...
I received strange emails from anyone that I knew, that had a Yahoo account with my email address.

I too have received emails sent supposedly by friends (they weren't) on my Yahoo email account. Usually they were advertisements.
