Love that shot of Bugsy and his mentor, Weeze! I've never had dogs and cats together, so it fascinates me to see them cuddling up together. We have some really neat pets on this forum! I love seeing the shots of them that everyone posts. Sherrie - isn't it time to post another shot of Mr. G?

Well I think one of my cats might have just saved our lives. One of my cats won't go poop in the litter box - she leaves it in a couple of spots in the crawlspace (4 1/2' high) instead. So every week I put on my headlamp and go and pick up her leavings. Today I happened to notice that the outlet pipe was disconnected from my boiler!!!!! OMG! I have no idea how long it had been that way but it was full of water and had dropped down off the outlet pipe. I drained the water and stuck it back in but I'm going to have to have a furnace person come and re-cement it. I would have never, ever seen it had I not been "treasure hunting" this morning.

I just got back from the big box store with a CO monitor and there is none in my living area.

Wow! You are so fortunate to have found it. Glad you're safe - give that cat an extra goodie as a reward.

Gee, Memory....you are lucky! Good idea to have CO monitors....I have one in the cellar, but am thinking about one for upstairs.....

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Wow, that is a great catch, Memory. So happy you found the problem in time! Hugs to that good kitty!!

I am currently pet-less, so every single photo is very special to me, since pets have always been a part of my life!

Thanks to ALL OF YOU for sharing your photos and experiences, it helps fill a void in my life.

People who love animals, are special indeed!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Don't we do everything for them? Wait! Am I the only one that runs my life around them?

Hello, fellow pet lovers.

In addition two our two little dogs, we have four cats. I'm now posting pictures of each one.

First, is our "head cat" Onyx. We adopted Onyx from the SPCA when he was just 6 weeks old in December 2004.

This is Trinity. We adopted her on the same day we adopted Onyx, She was 4 months old at the time. Her left front leg had been amputated due to nerve damage. She gets around just as well as the other cats and is just as precious.

This is Cookie. Two weeks after adopting Onyx and Trinity we adopted Cookie from the SPCA. She was ten months old in December 2004.
Cookie was very ill from a feline virus that was infecting many cats at the SPCA. We took her to our vet who put her on IV and kept her the night for no charge. They told us Cookie was very near death but they saved her. She is kind of 'air-headed' but very sweet. We call her our blonde kitty.

Last but not least in our Sammie. A friend who lives in a rural area found him as a tiny kitten and offered him to us in September 2005. We )are pretty sure he was feral (wild). The vet thought he was only 4 weeks old. When Sammie was old enough we had him neutered and his front claws removed. So, he was a "free" $500.00 cat. The de-clawing has proved worth every penny as he is a very active cat and tries to beat up the other cats but they stand up to him,

All our cats are indoor cats. We bring them out with us when we sit on the patio during the summer on leashes and they love that.

Guess I should post a picture of our dogs again. Daisy is on the left in the picture and she is a 3.5 year old full Shih-Tzu. Rosebud is on the right in the photo and is a 4 year old Pekingese/Shih-Tzu mix.

We love our little zoo. :)

Sorry, it looks like the copyright notices cover most of the cats pictures. I have no other pictures of our cats but will try and get some updated ones soon.

Dave - you have some lovely fur members of your family! Very cute!

Thomaston, CT

It's wonderful that you have adopted all the kitties.....and yes, I race home from school during lunch on the days I sub, to let my pooches out & give them a treat before I go back....this means I have to eat in the car, but, oh, well......

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I had a cat with an ampt. leg also, they get around just fine! Nice that you have adopted them Dave.

My world revolves around my animals, i'll admit it. :)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh Memory I can say I can join you and Louise in the pets run my life club.... understatement for me!!!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Wall-e got another rabbit...just got back in from cleaning up the carnage...anyone want a dog?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh geeze.. nothing like cleaning that up in the cold... sorry Jen

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

He comes running in and goes into his kennel and out of his mouth comes a whole leg....ICK...hubby is all nonchalant about it..."well that's what dogs do"...yeah easy for him- he didn't have to go clean it up.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

you know I wouldn't be cleaning that up!!!!

East Bridgewater, MA

Yes, there is definately a "messy side" to pet ownership, but at the end of the day, you've got a great friend, even if there are some gruesome moments.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Jen, make him clean it up.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL "make him" LOL yeah right!

Thomaston, CT

That's when the dog became DH's dog......now unfortunately I get to clean up everything.....good thing Suey is neat & tidy, can't say the same for the airedale.....
