Well Mr Haystack, I teach Billy by example, so he can call you Uncle Haystack?? LOL I pefer not to call you Howie, reason is that was my Ex Husbands name..LOLOL and you could NEVER be like him.... Sorry to make you think you have a identity issue, we all know the real truth who you are....
Where is Rita?????
I think Mr Hay is a very cute and appropriate name.
Me too Porkpal... Humm I am sure Billy will still add the Mr, so I am thinking it will be Uncle Mr. Haystack.. LOLOL
I like it here and at Cubits. I have great friends both places but this site is still easier for me to navigate. They have more articles over there and I love reading them. But DG is so homey. I am not computer savvy and I know there are still tons of features here I am oblivious to but I really enjoy using the ones I do know about. And if i need to know something else, all I have to do is ask. Some kind person will take pity on me and not make me feel dumb for asking. I have learned so much since first coming here and my life is so much fuller because of it. I love all you guys and am so blessed to be able to visit with you all each day.
Ive been on DG 5 years too! I hadnt thought about it until now! Whoa! I jumped from one forum to another and watch so many. I seem to be most interested in the poultry of course but the main thing is that all my friends are here sooner or later!
I will have to go back and look at my threads and have a Chuckle! You see good friends....I dont remember things to well! I am beginning to show Paternal traits of Altzhiemers. Just silly things now but by the time Im in my 80's I probably will not remember any of this! So when Im in my 80's please kick start me Y'all!
I have been on here for only 3 years but it has been 3 great years and thank y'all for allowing me to enjoy all the fun.
Eufaula I need a kick start every morning so do not worry about it.
Oh Eufaula, you have such a bright future, there will no need to remember the past. Enjoy today my dear, just keep being the sweet kind person you are and tomorrow will always be there for you...Hay
I am thinking we should all repost our first posts... I think I will find mine and bump it up...LOL Good reading.
Do we find our first threads by going to "threads we have started"?
Probably "View the posts you have made" after you click on your name.
This is fun reading! I've been so busy the last couple days.. this is a nice way to end the day. :)
I found it. My first post was on the camping forum. It was before i was a subscriber.
LOL My first post was a picture for plant files! LOL Then I posted on the seed saving forum. My how I've grown.. :) I love DG!
I didn't even know how to use PF til about a year ago. LOL
Can you find your first ones in the Poultry section?
Okay, my hovabator has been cleaned up n fixing to be full of some orpington hatching eggs next month after my son leaves to go back to Maryland! ..I gotta get my fish tank brooder back out n now fixed it up again..my chicken tv...to watch..LOLOLOL...
I have a 20 gallon long aquarium I use as my first brooder. It makes great chicken TV.
Wish my hubby would turn his 55 gal one over to me..can have lots of baby chicks to watch..maybe even a momma hen in there with them..LOLOL...
He's probably just using it for fish or something...
Well I found my first ever post. It was here and I stated I did not know what made me laugh the most, my flock of Marans hens or the hens here on this forum with their comments. I can't believe you have allowed me to remain here for three years after such a statement...LOL...Hay
The pic shown here is me and a dear bible college friend who has cancer and is not expected to live more than a couple months. I visited with him this week-end and invited him to come and live out his life with us so he would not be alone. I just wanted to share his pic with you and maybe you could offer a prayer for him...Hay
I will surely keep him in my prayers.
Way to go Mr Haystack.... prayers are being said for friend, and friend of yours is a friend of ours...
Thank you so much Roseane, I told my friend (Dave Rothwell) my friends would be praying for him...I knew I could count on you...
Thanks Cajun, It feels so good to be able to trust dear friends such as yourself...Dave just smiled when I told him all my friends would be praying for him...He looks pretty good but has a very large distended stomach due to the cancer tumor in his liver. He wears very large shirts to cover it up. He goes out to the store and buys things and then has to call for help because he can't remember where he lives and how to get back home. I had to take stuff back to the store while I was with him because he buys things and doesn't know why he bought them. I hope he will make the decision to come live with us so I can watch over him and take care of him...Hay
Hay you are such a good friend,I will be praying for your friend
Prayers and Hugs are flowing dear Dave's way!
Thanks Green, and Eufaula: It is so encouraging to find friends who care, even for those they do not know. I always feel free to bring my friends here who are in need of prayer and personal support...Is it really any wonder how all of you make this place: HOME. Thank you all so very much...Hay
I do hope you can convince him to come live with you. Clearly he should not be alone.
{{{HUGS}}}} and prayers for your friend Dave
What a awful thing to have to go through alone. You are a very special person Hay, one of Gods Angels here on Earth
Hay, I have known for a long time from the forum here that you are a very kind and giving person. You are a better person than I am for what you offered to do. I don't think I could handle the closeless and knowing there was no cure.
Thank you Rita, but the truth be known, I'm really no different than you. You'd do the same thing and I would bet on it. The Lord puts things in our lives for a reason. I'm only doing what I believe I would hope someone would do if I were in the same situation. Many of you here have helped me to make tough choices even as you have had to make concerning your own situations. We don't do what we do because it's convenitent, but rather because it's the right thing to do...Hay
God Bless your friend. And God Bless you for being there for him. It is apparent that your friendship and support was what put such a nice smile on his face!
You are both on my prayer list!
Haystack, you are such a love. My life has been better since you've been in it.. I'm so proud to be your friend. What you are doing for your friend Dave is nothing short of awesome. Please tell him I for one, encourage him to do so, and I'm sure I'm speaking for more than just me.
I will hold Dave in my prayers. You and Karen too.
Thank you Images and ZZs It's so hard knowing our limitations...I know what you went through loving Catsy and yet having to come to grips with our limitations. What really helps me is my darling Wifes support. She just met Dave for the first time. She is just awesome...Hay
I have been praying for Dave and asking God to show Himself big on Dave's behalf. I hope he will come and live with you and Karen. A person should always be with people who love and appreciate them but even more so when they are in need of help. And I pray God will poor out his richest blessings on you and Karen for the mercy and compassion you show to others. You are a shining example of Christian love.
My computer crashed last week and had to go to the shop. It is still not behaving normally and I know there is is virus on it because my virus program runs and I find it but it can't take it off. Which means it will have to go back to the shop again when my computer guy gets back from his mini vaction.
So I haven't been on the forums here hardly at all, in fact not using the computer as much as I normally would. Having had all sorts of house repair problems here too like fixing the furnace and plumbling repairs up the yazoo.
The weather has not helped, too cold and too much snow. I am so ready for spring and its only halfway thru January. But I am a person that loves to be ouside in my garden but hates the cold. This spring should be really pretty around here as I planted hundreds and hundreds of spring bulbs here last fall of daffodils, tulips and dutch iris.
We will all look forward to your beautiful spring pictures. I to am ready for spring...I think my girls are also. It has warmed up here to fifty degrees and now everything is flooding. Several had lost their home, car, and property item as many rivers are flooding their banks...It's just crazy...Hay
With the weather, if it ain't chickens, it's feathers. Guess you have to pick your poison. I am ready for Spring big time. I am so over this snow. It was warmer here today, high 30s, so the snow is melting. Now everything is slick and muddy. It's raining now too but supposed to turn to snow tomorrow then single digits and possible ice on Friday. *sigh*
