just Beautiful.
Whopper, the fledgling Osprey, spreads her wings.
Beautiful shots Margaret. Hard to believe she is all grown up!
Add me to the list...very relieved Dad is well!
Very nice, Marggie! C'mon Whop you can do it! We want to see you with a fish. We may have to buy her a fishing pole...
Margaret, Good to see your recent photos and that young Whopper is doing well.
Donna
I'm also glad dad is okay and safe. Your pictures of Whopper are just beautiful Margaret. I guess mom and dad are leaving her more so she'll learn that she has to catch her own fish. That's a hard lesson for the little one.
Have you heard any news on how the rescued dad is doing with his family? I do hope his mate has finally accepted him back too.
So happy to know that Dad Osprey is doing well! Thanks for the update and for the recent pics of the beautiful Whopper!
Thanks for you comments. I'm glad you're enjoying them.
Duc, I've been looking for the other male regularly, but haven't seen him for several weeks. I don't think that's an indication that anything bad has befallen him, more that the female just wouldn't accept him back after his prolonged absence. He didn't have any identifying features, so it will be next to impossible to tell if he is allowed to return at the end of this season or if she pairs up with another male. Poor lad.
Both chicks from the other nest have fledged. It's a much better site for seeing them in flight as there are large areas of open sky and the area is much more accessible to intrepid photographers, the opposite to "our" site, which is fast becoming more closed in because of vegetation. Here's one of the youngsters from the other nest from a few days ago.
such freedom,so beautiful
I was thinking that his may have been the last thread for the season, but there's still activity at the nest, so I've started a new thread. Come on over to: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1150786/
