That is BEAUTIFUL!
Tropical Garden #86
Ohhh, I want one of those - stunning!
Well I've had an exciting morning....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Lost the prime in the pump. Had to come in and change as I got soaking wet getting it re-primed. No one here to hit the "off" switch just as the geyser started had to dash to the switch - turn off - dash back to the pump, put the gauge back on, dash back to the switch and hope I was in time.
edited to correct the spelling errors from typing fast cause I was so "aggravated"

ardisia: Wow, that is one beautiful La Paz! I gave most of my Amaryllis to my sister in south Fl. Seeing your photo of that gorgeous Hippi makes me want to order a few!
mj: sounds like you had an exciting but not fun morning! I hope you got the pump re-primed and everything is working okay again.
GAgirl: Wowsers ... look at all those plants! It looks like you have a lot of GH area for tropical's! That Orange Rubra Begonia is really nice ... love the Orchids too, especially that last one. How easy are Vanda's to grow? I've never tried that type of orchid but someone said they can take a lot of sun and would do well here.
Orchid Laelia purpurata x BL Richard Mueller:
Hello Debra,
I will send some burrows tail in the spring when it is warm I have one small one and they root just from the leaves.
James
GAgirl what do you heat your greenhouses with ? I don't even want to see the electric bill for the barn, which what the greenhouse heat is on.
Here's an Oxalis with a native bromelaid which grows up in the oak trees here. There get a very pretty deep pink bloom on them. The Oxalis is confused it should be dormant.
Hey all, well, the rest of the day went fine till evening. D's SO was chopping wood behind the barn and as luck would have it hit a water line ! There is a slope behind the barn and a large oak tree, I guess thru the years there has been some erosion there and of course Oak Tree's do grow, so between the erosion, and the roots pushing up there was that ohhhhhhh so small area where the lines were close to the surface and course while splitting wood it went right thru into the ground and hit the pipe. So here we are running around trying to repair that, and of course did not have the one piece of PVC we needed to patch it. A trip to Tractor Supply later, it's patched but too chilly for the PVC glue to set up. Decided to just shut down the water to that area and we are going to re-route that pipe. I'll be digging today . What fun.
Anyway I did get alot of plants out of the barn as it looks like we'll have some decent weather and I can get them watered, check everything and go from there.
But look who I found blooming happily away in all the chaos when I started dragging them out !
A Bouganvilla I dug up from my sister's house last year. She passed away 4 years ago, and her son has kept the house.
I've brought many plants back to my farm from her yard.
wow. That is a nightmare, Mj. I hope you get some relief from that kind of stuff very soon!
That bloom looks to be the penta, perhaps the gomphrema is the one budding and I mixed up the tags?
Your plants are gorgeous. I am glad you saved those plants from your sister's home. Lin and Paula your orchids are awsome too, as are all of your plants you have shown. My sis in law that loves to garden has a lot of bougies she keeps going year after year and they are huge.
James, that is very nice of you to do that. I am glad to see you post. Have you planted any of those seeds I sent yet? I have and I have a few nice vines growing now.
No new pics yet. Lets see some more! Oh the purple double datura bloomed again. Its bloom id small and lighter in color than the first one, I prolly need to feed it.
I am going to go visit tropicman and his wife this weekend, I hope to see his green houses, and his birds, and have a nice visit with them. I miss seeing the gardening friends I have met here in my area.

Your hummingbird plant is Ruttya fruticosa http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/82773/
I have one, started to leave it out and was covering it but even with the cover's it was suffering so dug it up and put it in the greenhouse. It's perked up already.
What's the little yellow flower underneath the Begonia in the first picture ?
The rest of the White Sky vine cuttings will have to wait till spring. I think I waited too long and this last batch are not going to take. Too woody.
Hi MJ, thats one of my many orchids. Thanks for the name, I had it a one time. I am adding the label to the plant now.
awwwww.. That is beautiful!
Thanks Debra! I had to use the flash .. it's cloudy and dreary here this afternoon. We finally got a little shower of rain today, not enough to make much difference but at least it was moisture! We are so dry and under severe drought conditions and fire danger warnings. It would be nice to get a really nice rainfall. Our sprinkler system comes on twice a week but I need to do some deep watering of a lot of container plants ... hopefully I will get it done between baking this coming week!
