What a morning I have had, have several different birds to our feeder, two tufted titmice, a purple headed finch, and a bright red Cardinal! He came down to our platform feeder but took off before I could snap a picture, he was gone.
Daily Bird Pics - Vol. #359
Thanks for the link for the Yellow-rumped Warblers.
Hack, those cardinals are so beautiful-think I'd be taking their pictures all day long! Great wing spread at the feeder.
Red, congratulations on the two new lifers. Glad you're seeing the beautiful white pelicans. Wow, what a great group of birds for you to enjoy. Glad your little junco didn't get injured.
Teddy, hope you get to see a cardinal soon. Cute squirrel.
We took the dogs out back the other night and they found "Pepe le pew" waiting for them on the lawn. One dog caught the spray and boy did we all run! Luckily we keep a supply of Skunk Off handy.
Here's a Mourning Dove that sat out on the railing yesterday morning.
Ducbucin, I DID get to see a Cardinal this morning, twice! But unfortunately I could not get a pic. My husband is outside right now, trying to get pics for me, he has more patience than I do. I also saw a bird that I am not sure what it was, it was larger than the sparrows, about the size of a male Cardinal, covered in spots and on the ground. I think it was a Starling but not sure. I looked on the Winter Birds of Ohio web page, and that is what I believe it was. I will try to get a picture of it, or he will.
A lot of the ducks are hard to photo, duc. I saw a big flock of Ring-necks fly in and land on one of the ponds. They were there yesterday. No way to approach without them seeing you except to come up behind the dam. But, the instant your head pops up, you're going to get one shot. I may walk up and try anyway.
Some Ring-necks and a widgeon from earlier in the year.
Lovely assortments of pics, everyone. Too many to comment on, but enjoyed everyone.
Linth a great start with your beautiful Eagle.
Hack looking forward to your new thread start.
Resin, lot of snow there, for the beginning of winter, have fun.
Nanny, adorable companion, that Gus is.
I`ll put my mark on this thread before it closes. ;)
The female Purple finch is still coming everyday.
Nice pics everyone!
Chicochi, That is a male Red-bellied Woodpecker, the females have a grey patch on the top of their heads.
Thanks, pelletory, for your assistance!
Better picture of the purple headed finch, don't know why they call them that when it is red not purple. But who am I to judge. Some people call them purple, I think they are red.
That's a House Finch you have there!
Resin
Okay guys, I'm I'm in the process of starting the next thread, give me a minute to finish.
