Need a source for Juniperus chinensis Aurea

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

Since no one asked, I'll volunteer.

The tree in the photograph is growing in the Vandans/Schruns area of the Montafon, a pleasant little valley in western Austria. Not exactly central TN, but one can dream.

I expect (since the ACS conifer database doesn't even list it) that 'Gold Rider' is going to be another gold Leyland Cypress. I'd get all the different ones, and see which you like best. They grow like weeds down your way anyhow.

It looks like 'Gold Rider' has been at the NCSU Arboretum since 1994 (1 gallon plant) and was 26' tall after ten years (2004). That means it could be about 40' tall now. More info, in case you hadn't chased it this far...

'Gold Rider' that Monrovia sells was collected at the JC Raulston Arboretum at NCSU. You should contact Mark Weathington in VA - he's a nice guy and those are his pics.

Yep, it is; one of the newer ones.

Only if you've got a huge area!!

killda apparently has a bit of room, based on the number of different oaks being grown there.

Christiana, TN(Zone 6b)

Ya, I got 8 acres and I'm in the process of planting it all..LOL.
I do plan to collect the Leylands. I already have Naylor's blue and Irish Eyes.
Guys, I appreciate your info very much.
