Survey

I think you guys need some other options in your survey. I looked at it, but on the first two questions, there were none that applied. I don't come here for gardening information, I come here to find my friends. And, I don't look anywhere for gardening information. I used to get that from my mom, now adays, I just do whatever seems to make sense to me, trial and error. The survey doesn't have the option of none of the above, and wouldn't let me get any farther.

I thought some of the choices were limited also, I just chose the options that were the closest and went on.

I agree. I started to fill it out, but then quit. Nothing pertained to me & it wouldn't let me go on without answers.
Must be made up by same people as other surveys.
Sam's Club was telling about survey they were conducting. You could win a $1000 shopping spree. They get hundred of thousands of e-mail addresses. A good trade off!

Why can't that be an option in your prefverences ... something like "Do you want to perticipate in DG surveys"? I'd like the option to turn it off. If it's there, I can't find it.

lol I guess the option would just be your choice, no one makes anyone fill the survey! But yeah, I can see where the advertisement might be annoying.

Good point - that top message should be optional. We will build a feature to allow you to dismiss or remove that message.

Our reasoning behind keeping it up there for an extended time, is so anyone coming to the site for the first time in awhile will see it. It's the easiest way, right now, to reach a large crowd on DG.

Thanks for the feedback!

I wouldn't mind participating, but I need a "none of the above" button if none of the options apply.

Thanks so much TaliaRose! ☺

Yes that makes sense. I hate when I get survey question options that don't apply and they don't allow me to skip!

On another note, we removed the Survey link from the top. The survey will be open until this Sunday.

We'll be posting a link to Vote for the Photo contest later today, which will be up there over the weekend.

I'll work with our team here to see if we can add a "dismiss" option for these site-wide alerts.

Just my opinion----I think the survey could have waited until after the photo contest. This survey has been advertised more than the photo contest. Monday is the last day to vote for the photos and the banner has yet to be posted. Disappointed.

Sorry about the timing, but we are seeing a ton of participation in the photo contest!
