Thank you. I am working hard to get better. My sweet hubby did all of the leg work getting things ready and I was able to sit on the back patio and repot a lot of new violets from Robs Violets and redo my terrariums with epecia. I have more to do for sure, but I have to do slowly. I did get a lot done, but I have a lot of violets! My hubby is a huge help!
Here I am with my little doggie a couple of weeks ago at a nursery nearby. I was sitting, waiting for my husband to load the plant I picked out. HE has to do all planting now. What an angel.
Dysautonomia is hard, you can't walk far or get hot at all. I am better, but I have a long way to go. This happens with CFS sometimes, but MOST docs have never heard of it! :( I do have a great doctor thank goodness.

Sally, You are one beautiful and determined woman. Seems plants make you smile.
Keep up the good work and stay in touch with all that's going on here.
Is This Dysautonomia the same as the Adult Alexander Disease?

I don't know what that is. Dysautonomia is when the autonomic nervous system does not work correctly. Heart rate, blood pressure, temperature....
Now that you have a knowledgeable MD., maybe symptom management will become easier for you. Keep the faith, Sally! I think of you often and hope you are feeling better.
I just looked that disease up, no I do not have that.
I take many supplements. So glad my doctor knows about them, again, most are clueless.
Thank you for your sweet words! Plants and flowers are in my blood! My mom and g.mother are gardeners.
They are all beautiful.I have never tried mine outside.
Lynn
Well here it's been over 80 degrees every day. today a bit cold only 80.
I have never seen anything like these "dogs" they love, love wet and hot. Never grew anything like it.
Perhaps next summer you can try outside. Specially the hairy ones.
I might give it a try.I just worry about killing them when I have to bring them in.They could only live outside about 3 months here.
i only grew one in ny . pink panther. did well outside matured and then died.(don't like typing on lap top)
Is the key to make new ones just to have back up.? not too familiar as to what to do now that are soo big?
one of my june acquired ones is puney. I find no hair on them - they are sensitive. Just like the varigated.
I wonder ho Sally is doing now with the cold weather?
I'm no expert.I take tip cuttings and start new baskets when mine get too large and if the stems start getting too woody.Maybe someone who has a greenhouse or grows outside almost year round could help you more.
Yeah, Ill just experiment. - make a backup of all of the onse I like.Take it from there.Plenty of room outside.
I mean Cleo is inside in dripping wet condition. I marvel everyday at how they stand the humidity....Just keep on growing. I should be quiet and not bad mouthe them they'll turn on me.
In spring whatever I have I'll share.
Cleo loves it drippy wet,but some others don't.(when they are inside).
I redid all of my covered glass bowls with the episcias. Five in all I think.
Just took the tips and replanted in new soil. With my illness, they had waited sooooo long! They are so happy now! :)
I am so glad you feel better, espcially with the Holidays approaching. Warm wishes. Helene
Thank you! I take MANY supplements that are doing a great job, I also stopped eating gluten. I am improving slowly.
It is so good to be able to take care of my inside plants again. Repotting is hard, hubby helps.
I cannot garden outside. Hubby does some and landscaper do the rest. I just had lots pf pansies planted Monday. I hope I can work outside again, will be a long while.
I'm glad you are feeling better too. Sometimes finding what works takes time.
Pretty much all epicia will be leggy at some point, its their nature. I don't think they tend to branch like other plants if you pinch them...maybe because they grow the stolens...they just stop and don't tend to grow a new "crown". When I've wrapped mine around the pot enough times, and its looking bad, I take cuttings of the tip and stolens.
I grow several of the green/brown/silver shaded leaved episcia under cover, they all love the humidity.
tish
Tish. The Pink one you gave is finally very happy - always dripping wet in the PM - loves hot - I have never grown plants under such conditions....
Thanks to ya'll for the advice of high lights for episcia Cleopatra. After a year of nothing, she is finally putting on growth on the top center spot of my plant stand. Yeahhh!!!
Wandy,
Your aquarium is a beauty!!
Wandy, that is gorgeous!
