I like wasabi peas...whoooosh* !^#$ .!#*! right up the old nose!...burn, burn, burn,
Then "that was wierd" let's have another taste"!
Things that make you go "hmmmm" or Say what???!!!!
Glad you mentioned the parasites, Victor!
You're exposed to more radiation from the Sun than you are from Japan!!!! Give it up!!!
Is that why the Japanese flag has the sun on it???
Wasabi = horseradish
Always order it "on the side" (small, separate container) so you can control the heat to exactly your level of enjoyment.
(And take the rest of it home, since they will throw it out anyway....one would hope, lol.)
From the sounds of things over there in Japan it doesn't sound like they'll be exporting any fish or anything else for awhile since the citizens have already stripped all the store shelves. Probably be importing for awhile. They used to buy blue fin tuna from us here in the Gulf of Maine. We used to have an annual tuna tournament and they'd buy just about fish they could get their hands on. Same with scallops and other fish/seafood. Personally I think sushi is sucki-e-e-e!!!!
I like all the different sushi varieties. There are some great vegetable ones. However, the ones with sashimi(raw fish) I can do without.
RE: wasabi When we were in Japan visitng our son, we were at a restaurant and DH put the whole little green dollop of stuff in his mouth thinking it was something sweet. What a surprise he had! Definitely learned something that day.
The first sushi restaurant I ate in, all I ate was sashimi...I liked tuna the best
Not all sushi is marinated, nor is it all fish. Some have raw fish (sashimi), cooked fish, or just about anything else you can roll up with sticky-rice in a seaweed binding.
I've done a few double-takes around town, when I see a tree with different colors of flowers on it. Then I realize that it has been grafted. But, at first, it catches me off guard.
A rather long article on Yahoo Financial News this morning on the Financial Crisis of 2008 and no prosecutions!?!?!?!?
But are there prosecutions. "in the works" ?
Some but not for the executives so far. You wouldn't believe the stuff they're doing to cover their a--es! Mostly the ones doing the investigating!!!
I bet. I heard one of the Merrill Lynch execs got a severance of over 150 million and an AIG exec still has over 1 MILLION in consulting fees being paid to him and this is PER MONTH!
Edited to say that this is really something that makes me go hmmmmmmmm

Makes you wonder where they're keeping that money - not in their banks you can bet.
200-ft yachts (which they loan out for even more cash flow).
Lots of heads should roll, including politicians, but you know that won't happen.
No, it won't on this earth, anyway.....
How come the '1/2' apple, chicken, and pecan salad at Wendy's costs 3/4 the price of the full salad? Hmmmmmm

Whatever happened to the nice gentle spring rains?
Crazy. Any tornadoes close to you at all?
Saw a lot of fields flooded today when we took the kids down to a party.
Raleigh is about 30 min away. They had a time there. Sanford maybe 45 and that is where the Lowes was flattened. Some fatalities too. It happened quickly. My husband was laying a walkway and out in the stuff with thunder and lighting all around...he is crazy.... I would have dragged him in but I think I get double if he goes to the great beyond via an accident and so...... I let him have his way
ROTFL, Rosie you are soooo bad!!!!
I always said if hubby died at home I'd drag him into a house that was on fire, because for being a fiefighter if he died in a fire I'd become a millionaire
It would be TRICKY Jen. You'd have to smoke and blow some in his lungs 'after the fact' to get the proof.
So nice to know what our wives are really thinking!!!!!!(lol)
Ah.............well a gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do.....you fellas don't want to leave this world worrying about little old us starving or wanting for anything. We just want you to rest easy---everything we do we do for you.
Point well made!!
(grin)
Jen can you do the link where you carry this thread over to a second page? It is loading real slow I think because so long.
Can't think of a better place to be locked into! Oh, wait, no bathroom facilities....never mind. Rosie, glad you are OK after those violent storms....
Thanks.
I deadbolt myself in when my husband goes out of town.....I don't know how I do it but I misplace the keys....NO way out except the windows and if you saw my post and photo on another thread of "snakey' in the trellis outside the livingroom window, you would understand why I can't possibly go out that way. Plus windows too high. I got nobody but me to let me out.
Yes and a potty too. I do feel a bit panicky when it happens. Do you keep a phone on you and a goody bag hidden in there? as soon as I step outside I clip the housephone to my shirt.
thanks!
