No!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i say what?!?!?! sometimes after reading some posts here :) i try to keep my fingers off the key board at times like that.......

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hearing what sixth grade kids were saying today on the hike made me shake my head. Guess their parents just don't care.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i can only imagine!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

And only sixth grade! If I heard my son using that language they would be calling the cops on me because I would have slapped him in front of everyone.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

That's probably the language they use in his house, many families are dysfunctional these days.

Thomaston, CT

My sister has been subbing in a high school in an affluent town....she can't believe the language.....it was certainly bad in 7th grade when I retired....your choices were so limited...throw the kid out of class, he/she is back the next day...office gave detention...student skipped out of detention, & so the public school merry-go-round continues.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yeah, it's hard hearing that kind of language when you don't use it at home, I actually cringe.

I saw a girl get off a school bus in a tank top and short shorts today...say what???!!!! and I'm in comfy velour pants, l/s tee and a sweater

Shocked at how teen girls dress at church.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

They can wear as little as they want to, it doesn't bother me.

Thomaston, CT

Nothing new....when I taught 6th grade a hundred years ago, I had the superintendent's daughter in my class.....she came to school one morning in a skin-tight pair of jeans with big red lips stitched on the fanny....I sent her home....her mother, a teacher, was upset that I did that!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I expect it in school, but not church.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I turned off to organized religion long ago, about the same time they automated the letters asking for money..

The only thing that raises my eyebrows every now and then are the cars these kids are driving. - Correction: Trucks these kids are driving! Some of these kids are barely 17 and 5' tall, both girls and boys and they're driving their parent's 'hand me downs', -which are huge SUVs and pickups! Sometimes you can just barely see the kid behind the steering wheel! - too much power and mass for a teen.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

some of us have no choice if we need power in a vehicle. I'm not very tall.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

It's not the height thing so much as the lack of maturity, some of these cars are too big and the kids drive them like bumper cars.

Remember when you were a kid and everythig was ok. And now you look back and say that was not right - way out of wack. Unless your perfect. I did things that was out of the morel society or odinary. Kids are kids.

I dont do it now and say - those kids are so bad. Dont get me going.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Raised Catholic but my youngest brother & I didn't go to a C, school like the other 5 boys did. However, my mother might of well sent me to a C, school, she made me where dress every day! I eventually brought a pair of jeans to school and started wearing jumpers as a dress. Get to school and off came the dress and on went the jeans. And I thought I was bad....now I see these girls with their short skirts and little tush hanging out and their parents are with them! Geez, I know times are tough but are we having a shortage on material too?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I like putting the bike shorts under my daughter's skirts or dresses. or those skorts...they were the best idea

WC I don't think I've ever seen a teenager driving a truck around here, they all have brand new little clown cars.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Cadillac SUVs and Ford 350's not uncommon for the teens around here..

Thomaston, CT

Knew I had the wrong job.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too. That is so outrageous, but at the same time, not shocking.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

That's the mob..

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Watch those anti-Italian slurs!! (No such thing as the mafia. ^_^)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I love provolone just as much as the next guy, but... (lol!)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Why am I not surprised...

things that make you go hmmmm, saw a guy walking yesterday with a jacket over a sweatshirt and shorts hmmmmmm

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Some guys don't know how to dress.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yeah, I would leave the shorts home.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

My husband flosses his teeth every MORNING after he wakes up.

He also has his tea or coffee with a ton of Splenda and then has a huge piece of cake on the side.

I read the other day that a father had no memory of having his three year old son with him in the car. Police found the father wandering intoxicated after leaving a wedding reception.

But I really wonder about myself....why I constantly purchase plants on a whim without ever considering where I will put the darn thing. Worse, I convince myself that I will do something to prevent the deer and rabbits from eating stuff I know darn well they will eat.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Maybe the floss removes Splenda??

Thomaston, CT

My DH did the same thing...Splenda in his coffee, as he was wolfing down dessert.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ya like those buying at a fast food restaurant, super size me!!!! and then orders a diet soda.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

a calorie saved is a calorie burned

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

;0)

but gotta say hmmmmmmm (and not much else!)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

There is a fairly new development about 4 miles from me, they built a new culdesac(on the small side) right off the main road and put in 4 colonial styles houses, probably on the only hill in my town...I think this must have been where they piled the dirt when they built the main road....anyhoo.... the 1 house on the right side has about 5' of flat land in the backyard before it drops off to very steep hill...was trying to figure out why someone would want a house like that? One day they had put out a table and chairs mind you it was leaning and I'm thinking...who is going to sit at a table leaning like that? The next day the table had fallen over

I had thought they were done building houses but low and behold they decide to stick 2 more houses on this tiny culdesac, at the bottom section one on each side, one a colonial size and the other a cute little ranch...the ranch is adorable BUT the backyard is about 15' long surrounded by wrought iron fence and on the other side of the fence.... a drainage basin!!!
Why would you want that in your backyard???

Sometimes people confuse me...don't get me wrong, house is cute and all but.....
