The Pine Siskins are such pretty birds and they are always following the goldfinches around the flowers.

The Pine Siskins are cute, I often mistaken them for female Houses Finches. Boys don't I wish I get to see some of the exotic birds as Tigerlily's Mandarin Duck and some of the Warblers out NE and Western regions. Duc, I've yet able to differentiate American's coots babies. When I spot one I will sure snap several pictures. Marna, nice close up pics. of the Gulls. Awww, those that have White throated Sparrows, please send some my way. I haven't seen one since early Summer. These Pekin pair are long time residents here. It's alway a pleasant treat to see them leasurely swam about here by where we live.

These pair of Mallard ducks were here the other morning, but in the evening I saw but one of the two (sorry on the over exposure on the photo -- I've corrected the setting on the camera since). I hope they've reunited by now. Sigh!

The quality of this pic. is obscured by the glass window. But, when I see the Redheaded WP it's worth the photo session. ^_^

Here is Lord Byron (WP) with a Mr. Red (the cardinal) at the feeder, Lord Byron is the superior warrior in this setting.

Well....too many to comment on, let's just say I really enjoyed all of them!

It looks so funny when the really small birds come to drink at the bird bath. This Carolina Chickadee looked soooo tiny!

Very blurry shot...but I just had to wonder what this female Red-bellied Woodpecker was looking at! lol

Last week Myrtle Warblers were a dime a dozen here in the yard. Lots have been coming to drink at the birdbath!

Lily, your ducks are cute. Hope the pair gets back together too.

Nanny, goodness, you're really seeing a great variety of birds. Nice job on all of them. I was wondering if you see the Pine Siskins when your goldfinches are there?

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I have only seen Pine Siskins a couple of times....and none last year. I even moved the finch feeder in closer to the house in case they showed I would be sure to see them too!

Fingers crossed for some this year...lol

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

I do hope the Sisken will show up this year. I usually see the Sisken mixed in with the Goldfinches, but my Goldfinches have vanished, because I didn`t see to the wet seeds right away. The seeds were not moldy, but they were clumpy.
That is a nice shot of the titmouse Nanny.
Great work everybody.
I got a nice surprise today. , I saw the Red-breasted Nuthatch come to the feeder, for the first time. Hope he comes back.
Not the best of pic, but will certainly try for better, if he returns.

Now, this one is a new one for me. I always though the Hermit Thrush, was much bigger, than what it is. Quite a cutie.

Cute H.T. there Burn, I saw my first one during my trip out West last couple weeks. It was quite a treat. Nan, my Red Bellied has vacated my backyard for quite sometime this latter part of the season, I haven't seen my other Woodpeckers, but the Redheaded. I've yet seen a redbreasted Nuthatch, but the Brown Headed Nuthatches comes and goes all summer long, last two weeks I saw it returned to visit.

Our seed is now at the bottom of the barrel. the chicks & wh.brested nuthatches don't care. they are working the feeder every day.

Nice shots everyone!! A few immature Bald Eagle shots I got from Sheldon's Marsh today. Although I did better on my shots this time (with an eagle) I should have switched to a better metering mode on the camera...but with bird's in the air sometimes its too late to change camera settings. But here they are.

the eagle was interested in a dead fish that a American Herring Gull was working on.

They are beautiful.

(Linny) Salem, SC(Zone 7b)

My friend who lives in Port Orford, WA sent me this photo of this adorable guy. She identified it as a Gray Jay a/k/a Camp Robber. She said he ate out of her hand all day. I thought he was so cute I just had to share.

Burn, great shot of the Hermit Thrush!! All the ones I get are in shade and at a good distance, so they come out blurry!
