Gonatopus boivinii, Giraffe's Knees, flowering. This is the plant that was broken during a recent storm. Luckily the flowering stems were okay. The leaf stem broke but the leaf is still surviving, so far.

Thanks, tropicbreeze for the thread.
Thanks, Dave for the pix.

Tropicbreeze, thanks for the new thread!! Your MOT looks like a Kalanchoe donkey ear that I had. I have been looking for the Giraffe's knees ever since you introduced it to us. Cool Plant!!

Hello Everyone,a person could overwork one's self in the garden with this nice weather we are experiencing. The roses are blooming again. Belindas dream, knock-out and Home runs are awesome, no pictures until I can pull the johnson grass out of the flowerbeds.
ardesia, is that Willi's gold? You seem to be doing everything right. It is such a nice plant. I will take your advice and simply ignore the blue ginger plant. Hopefully, I will have a big flower head to show you next year.
Yellow Barleria from candela
Joeswife, you had me walking around with a big smile on my face today. The Birthday package kept me busy all day.
RachelLF has been missing for a while now. I wanted to thank her as well for all the passion flower plants and the card that she sent to me, you girls sure know how to make a body feel special. Thanks from my heart!!
This variegated sea grape was from DH. Maybe it will recover and be beautiful soon.
I never heard of a sea grape. I am glad you had a good day, Rita.
I have an explosion of colors down stairs this evening. But it was hard to go down there because the smell outside this evening was intoxicating with all the night blooming smell good things. The cestrums, moon flowers and four o clocks were heady, and when the four loaded brugs open tomorrow night It will be perfect.
I didn't know ginger came in variegated either. LOL
Gee I sure learn alot here. James what a cool idea to use fishing line. I use yarn or ric rac..
ardesia, those plants look beautiful.
Gosh, I miss Rachel too, but I bet she is bringing in some plants ..
joeswife, the sea grape actually produces fruits. My GM use to make wine from it, I do not imagine that I will ever see blossoms much less grapes but the variegated leaves are very pretty. I wish that they had sent the plant that I bid on, the leaves on that plant are all beaten up. I hope it survives.
I can just imagine the aroma coming from your basement, it makes up for all the hard work. I can not imagine life without all those beauties!! I guess there is always fishing!! lol
Rita, is your Iochroma blue? It is gorgeous. I can't imagine the watsonii leaves getting that big. Are they in a pot?
My big dippers has been patiently waiting for me to put them in their winter home. Tommorrow I bring in more plants. I fear they warm weather will turn cold again, since my knees hurt so bad. You know I am bored at night when I am wandering around peering at plants in the dark. Tonight I "saved " some inpatiens I started from seeds last winter. I just can't bear to see my "babies" just die.I love to catch those seeds , the way they pop open in my hand is fun to feel.
After the plumbago is finished blooming, I have to cut it back. I am going to try to get cuttings of it to root. No luck in past years, but who knows..
Joeswife,
I am sorry to hear that your knees are hurting. I hope that it is not a serious injury.
The A. Watsonii is in a pot. My friend TrueTropical found the perfect spot for it in the garden.
I usually dig up a big clump of plumbago and keep it until I have time to divide it in the winter and make multiple starts for next spring. They bloom much quicker that way. I have been told they are hardy in my zone, but it depends on the severity of the winter.
Most of my caladiums have gone dormant already in my HH. I hope they give a better performance than they did this year. Do you know the name of your favorite? I want to try those next year.
Great pictures everyone.
Rita, I think the planter you showed on the previous thread from your grandson is just lovely and of course I am admiring your big leaved watsonii and the lovely bloom from that Anthurium as well.
mjs, good to read the cissus has rooted for you and that pretty syngo. that you sent me has a new leaf and another one on it's way.
I went away for a few day's to Arkansas and while there I was able to visit Steve Lucas again and talk Aroids and of course I had to take some pic's from his Exotic Rainforest. Here are a couple of pictures from their place.
Dave, what is the plant in post #8140897, and I like the colors on that Orchid. Tropic, I agree with Rita on the Giraffe's Knees being a cool looking plant.
Debra, everything you have shown in-doors is still thriving for you and I need to start bringing plants inside as well. Gosh, I hate having to do that!
