Voting

Cochise, AZ(Zone 8b)

The way we always voted in the photo contest was much easier to navigate.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

The voting on the various fair photos is the same voting function we've used for several photo contests :-)

NE, SD(Zone 4b)

Thank you for the virtual county fair, it was fun but hard to judge!!^_^

Cochise, AZ(Zone 8b)

I'm talkin bout the recipes.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Understood - unfortunately, the recipes couldn't use the same format as the photo submission (and voting) process.

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7a)

Terry - Do people have to have a Facebook account of their
own in order to vote on the DG Facebook page?

I have a FB account but some who don't are asking that question.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I believe you do have to be logged in to vote. It avoids any accidental or intentional "piling on" of "like" votes.

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7a)

Got it. Thanks, Terry.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

That's too bad as I, for one, refuse to be on Facebook. Heard too many horror stories.....meaning viruses..

Los Angeles, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi All,

Sorry about the inconvenience of voting on Facebook. Since we wanted to include recipes in this County Fair it seemed to be the easiest option at the time. We weren't sure if it was the best way - but we figured we'd try it out.

There seems to be a lot of people voting on Facebook, which we are happy to see! But - we understand the issue if you do not want to be on Facebook.

We'll have to think about another way to vote on text-based recipes for the future. We will work on this!

Best,
TaliaRose

I don't see much information on voting on the entries that were made other than the recipes (photos). I understand voting closes in just a couple of days. What happened to plans to renew the banner?

NE, SD(Zone 4b)

I did vote but only because I "caught" a post in a thread; otherwise, I would not have voted.

There does need to be a banner...soon. Doesn't voting conclude this Friday?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Yep - I'm hoping it'll go up tomorrow :-)

NE, SD(Zone 4b)

The banner is here!!!!! Thanks.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Yay!

Los Angeles, CA(Zone 10a)

Yes! The banner is now live! (-:

Thomasville, GA(Zone 8a)

The choices on the voting DG's was wonderful. The photos and entries were as always were beautiful. Thanks to all the people who supplied the pictures. Elaine

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

very hard to pick the best photos. So many were great. I think the barns were the hardest. This was fun; let's do it again next year.

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7a)

I agree about the barns. I fell in love with those photos.
Such a wonderful part of American history.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

What a fun contest this has been! I have no doubt next year's will be even better! Can't wait to see the winners!!!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

It was fun, lots of nice shots except not everyone seemed to be clear on the "The photos must be yours and the subjects should also be yours." Many stated that the photos were shot on vacations and on drives.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Quoting:
Can't wait to see the winners!!!

Ummm... I think the winners have been posted since the morning of Oct 8th? Go figure!?!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Calif_sue, I noticed that also. And I noticed some farm animals were in with domesticated (pets) and some pets were in farm animals.
One of the things I liked was the quality of the photo. Some of the play on light were gorgeous.
