Double YUM!!!
You would have to have seen my post about Spanish words that are more than 4 letters. (ie, TACO) Roflol!!!!
I can hear them, I just can't spell them!!! lol
North Central Texas Fall Roundup October 10th, Part 2.
I posted this on the trade thread, but wanted to mention it here as well. The Cowboys are playing in Arlington this Sunday. Kickoff time is 3:15, but folks will be heading out to the stadium early. Plan an alternate route or leave earlier than you had planned just in case the traffic is heavy. The park isn't that far from Cowboys Stadium.
That is a good thing to know Stephanie.
Good to know but I would think that all those die-hard Cowboy fans won't leave til after 5, at the earliest!!! (Personal experience!!! I used to be one, even when they were in the Super Bowl & I was overseas & got the Game a wk later!!! Showing my age, right?) ROTFLOL
And we are usually all cleaned up & out of there by 3-4!
:~)
Right, leaving shouldn't be a problem....but we need to get there early so we aren't stuck in that traffic. After looking back at the map, it looks like N Bowen goes all the way through from I-20 to Randol Mill......is that right Josephine? I will be using it if so.
Well, if I can talk my mom into coming, I know we probably won't have to worry about getting to the hosp, quickly! Daddy should be wide awake & doesn't want to be interupted when he is watching the Cowboys!!! lol
Too funny! Maybe that will be another convincing point you can make for her to come.
Herman did say he would bring his large laptop and the car plug-in so if some wanted to keep up with the game(s) they could btw. Rangers may be playing game 4 of the AL Div in Tampa Bay also.

She loves it so!!!! She goes home, normally, afterwards & just tells Daddy, how they (DGers) just insisted that she bring these 'orphans' home. So cute for an 86 yr old GREAT mom!!! (Chest sticking out real big w/pride!!!)
:~)
Sheila, Bowen does end at Randol Mill, but it is not called Randol Mill at that point. It really doesn't matter, just make a right when it dead ends and the third light is the entrance to the park.
My boss mentioned this morning that the game is at NOON, but he could be wrong. Whatever time it is, you'll need to plan for traffic. I think we'll be taking I20 to Bowen and going up that way. It will mean lots of traffic lights, but I'd rather do traffic lights than sit in traffic on the highway.
They don't play until 4:15 by what is on their website. So we may not have too much problem.

Oh good, I hate traffic jams.
I will watch the "what is needed" as my guest and myself still aren't sure what to bring. I am not sure if I want someone named grubbyfungus bringing plates and napkins! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's OK, she's a friend of mine, maybe not, after that comment I just made. Peg
Datura12,
LOL that was funny. I can't wait to see everyone again and meet the ones that weren't there in the spring.
Tina, is your son coming again?
I don't know yet. He started working at walmart overnight but he is off on Thursday-Saturday night. He really enjoyed himself last time so he probably will want to come.
Peg....better the paper goods than homemade cookies! LOL! Sorry Kate, couldn't resist.
Hi guys! I have yet to commit myself to bringing anything special. But I will. I will also have 4 kids iwth me. Now to figure out what to bring. By-the-way. . . I will not be bringing a door prise for all of my kids -- sorry, but need to keep $$$ down. . . .unless I can get really creative -- don't count on it!
Greta (Brenda) Will we be having name tags? With forum names??
Yes Brenda....we make name tags with real and member id names.
As for the door prizes a lot of us bring more than one...they are small dollar store items, just mainly donated for fun. We insist everyone goes home with something, so please let the kids participate anyway.
That is right Brenda, we will make sure there are enough prizes fro everyone, so those of you who can bring an extra prize, I intend to do that.
Josephine.
frostweed,
please add 1 more for me.
Greta,
how old are your kids? I can bring some little gifts for your children from the dollar store. just let me know their ages and names.
Tina
Well you see, we draw numbers so you really can't specify for children unless we have a separate drawing for them.
We have never done that, but let us hear opinions, please?
Hey Josephine my wife decided to show up so add one to me please.
O.K. I will add your wife to the list Michael.
I like the idea of having one for kids.
Gee, you people really amaze me! It will be nice to meet you face to face!
Kids age -- I have special needs kids. . . ages are 8 to 15 biologically, but mentally we are 5, 6,12, 12. One is a Downs Syndrome Blessing (hes 11 going on 6 or 7). The others are adopted blessings. The youngest, female, is 8 going on 4 or 5. The older two are 12 and 15, but both about 12, male and female. Aren't you glad you ask?
Please, they will be fine without goodies. Honest. I thought we were all going home with goodies anyway -- plants! Who needs more???? And a potluck meal, hey, what more could we want!
By the way, I will bring a main dish -- zita! It is the one thing my very picky kid will eat. It is also meatless, for those inclined to vegetarian.
Looking forward to Sunday! Thanks All!
O.K. Everybody, time is getting close and will are all excited, did you notice that the date of the swap is 10-10-10?
Those of you bringing paper products, cups, plates and eating utensils, remember that we are expecting about 55 people so bring enough.
Please mark any serving utensils you bring, and take your bowls pans and serving dishes home with you, we always have some left behind.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please don't forget to bring a door prize for every person in your party, something inexpensive, such as a book, doesn't have to be new, garden gloves, a garden tool, a plant, a bag of manure or compost, you get the idea, something that either a man or a woman can use.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also we are going to have a few children attending this time, so we have decided to have a separate drawing for them and some of us are going to bring prizes that are suitable for a child. You can also do that if you like.
Again nothing expensive, something from the $ store is fine.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is turning out to be a very fun swap, lots of people, lots of trading on line and the weather promises to be great!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please label all your plants and make note of the person you are giving them to, it gets very confusing with all the excitement and the fun, so being organized really pays off.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let us have a great time visiting, trading and eating.
Your friend
Josephine.
Hello Guys, if one of you has a well insulated chest cooler, would you please bring a bag of ice?
Thank you.
Josephine.
I'll be bringing a dessert, since that is what my wife wants to make. :)
what does eveyone think about the terrible traffic they are predicting because of the games? is there a different route? best time to leave??
The link at the top.... http://arlingtonathletics.multisportsystems.com/page/show/97122-randol-mill-park has a map. You might look and see what you may need to do. I am coming up from I-20 on Bowen, hope to avoid some traffic on that route. But since you are north, not sure what to tell you.

It really depends on how the Rangers do tomorrow. If they win, there won't be as much traffic to worry about. However, coming from Plano, I'd try to avoid both I-30 and 360 if at all possible. I'd go around the top of Dallas, then come through the mid-Cities area to east loop 820 S, then take I-30 East from there. The problem is that there's really nothing that goes all the way through from Arlington to any of the mid-cities. North Collins (FM 157) goes through, but in Arlington, Collins is so close to the stadium that you'll run into horrible traffic, I'm sure. If you have a toll tag, you should be fine.
I'm leaving no later than 10:30am. It normally only takes about 30 mins for us to get there, but I'm allowing extra time for traffic. If we get there early, we can always help with sign in or unloading plants or whatever (trying to find the bathroom!).

The restrooms were a ways off this last time. Guess we need to take turns carpooling to the potty every hour or so! LOL!

Hello Guys, if one of you has a well insulated chest cooler, would you please bring a bag of ice?
Please let me know yes, or no, and I will do it if nobody has it.
Thank you.

Josephine. My wife is not going to be able to make it after we were at the State Fair all day she feels ill. I am all good and looking so forward to this journey!
See you and everyone else tomorrow!
Bluesmaven + 2 won't be attending we're worn out. Pbtxlady and Sheila_fw check your dmail.
Tina, thank you but we went and bought an ice chest this evening, so no need to bring ice after all.
