It's coming up on that time of the year...

Just checking to see if there will still be a DG Photo Contest. If this has been addressed recently and I missed it, then my apologies.

Yes, we will be having one. The County Fair is going on now; once it concludes, we'll tee up the annual photo contest :-)

Terry,
Can you tell us some of the details now so photos can begin prep for the contest? Like what is the best camera/photo size required.....last year I had photo's that were fine with my programs, emails, prints but when I connected those to the contest they were anything but good. They were to small.

Thanks for any help you can give.

We've never had any special recommendations or requirements for the contest. Throughout the site, photos that are larger than 800x600 (I think that's correct) are resized. I personally wouldn't recommend anything smaller than 480x640.

The county fair was a different idea :) Will Dave do that again next year? So... now that that is done, do we have dates for the regular photo contest? I assume you'll have a banner on the home page when it's time?

For those who do not check DG every day - I can say I missed it a couple of times. But - it's very competative and a great calendar.

This one was a lot of fun and we do plan to have a 2nd county fair next year :-)

We don't have a specific date just yet for the start of the photo contest, but stay tuned - we are working on the details now so we can get it started in the next few weeks, along with some other new activities we have in mind.

And yes, we will use the banner as one of the ways to communicate it. We always recommend that our subscribing members have the DG forum among your favorites, and drop by whenever you see there's been a new thread started. It's a good place for staying informed of events and activities.
